The game in the area is superb, overall levels of guiding and service are set just as high and therefore if money is no object then, for the Linyanti, Kings Pool is the place to be - just do not forget to spend an hour in their elephant hide, as at ground level you cannot afford to miss seeing an elephant from toe high!! Kings Pool: The DetailThe accommodation is in 9 huge taught canvas tents with thatched roofs raised on wooden platforms, complete with your own private plunge pools. The rooms themselves have huge four poster beds, draped with mosquito netting and covered with soft linen. Lavish en suite bathrooms have his and hers basins, outdoor showers and, as if one is not enough, there are two more indoor showers to choose from! The large decking area outside each room looks directly onto the lagoon and comes complete with a plunge pool, sun-loungers and a sala for catching a snooze before your afternoon safari. The lounge, dining area (food here is simply fantastic) and bar area face out over a wide expanse of decking onto the hippo filled lagoon below. Each night everyone comes together at the fire, chatting until dinner is served. We highly recommend returning to bed early to appreciate the sky at night from the comfort of your outside sala or private pool in summer! Activities include day and night game drives and walks, while boat cruises along the Linyanti River (water level dependant) offer spectacular viewing. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds and are a magnet for game in the dry winter months.

Jao is one of Africa’s most famous camps. Built high up into the trees the design of Jao truly takes your breath away; the rooms are absolutely beautiful, with vast beds, lounges and outside double ‘sala’ beds.
