Malawi
Malawi
We are still researching Madagascar, below is some general information.
Malawi is dominated by Lake Malawi, a 500 km long lake with excellent fishing and freshwater diving. The ‘Lake of Stars’ has beautiful clear water and equally stunning sandy beaches and, due to the lake’s vast size, a genuine coastal feel. The Lake is also home to some incredibly rare species of tropical fish. However, having one of the world’s greatest lakes is not all that Malawi has to offer. Mount Mulanje and the Nyika Plateau are home to some of the best walking in Africa and beautiful scenery. The landscape is incredibly dramatic, mountainous escarpments tower above African grassy plains. St Peter’s Cathedral on Likoma Island is well worth a visit and offers a reminder of Malawi’s cultural heritage. Malawi was fundamental in the formation of the missionary route and Livingstone, the Scottish missionary explorer, is referenced throughout the country. Malawi has surprisingly good transport links for an African country and the people of Malawi are renowned for being the friendliest in Africa.
