Other Parks

In this ‘other parks’ section we group together Chyulu, a fantastic park that very few travellers visit, Tsavo, Shompole and Amboseli. They are grouped together because they have only one or two lodges or simply cannot be categorised into the main sections we have on the tool bar. If we take Shompole for example, some would argue that it is home to one of Africa’s most impressive lodges, certainly one of the most striking lodge designs. However Shompole is in the middle of nowhere, in a remote location between Nairobi and the Masai Mara – it dosn’t really belong to any area! The other parks in this section are Amboseli and the Chyulu Hills which are two of Kenya’s most famous areas and definitely worth a read.

And finally comes Tsavo, which we put here as we believe the quality of safari on offer here dosn’t deserve its own section! We encourage people not to travel here!

The Chyulu Hills National Park is wild and remote with very few visitors and few Masai villages in the area. With the backdrop of the Chyulu Hills and views out towards Kilimanjaro, the wilderness on display at Chyulu is infectious. This is a connoisseurs park.
Located half way between the Masai Mara and Amobseli, the area is not a destination for game viewing but Shompole offers unbelievable views, stunning accommodations and a range of activities. It is a superb lodge for appreciating the wilderness and staying in utter luxury!
Amboseli National Park is one of the most photographed wildlife areas in the world. Huge elephant herds stroll across the plains with the snow capped peak of Kili forming one of the most recognised and iconic shots on the planet.
Tsavo is Kenya’s largest park and one of the largest anywhere in Africa. Located half way between Nairobi and the coast, the park is split by the Nairobi Mombassa highway, and railway!
