It is very hard to rank lodges with one simple measure! But we have tried, and herewith an explanation of our system.
We are awarding 'palms' to beach locations and 'paws' to safari lodges.
Our ranking is subjective (it is the office consensus, after much arguing), and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three palms to certain 'five star' lodges in the hotel tick-box sense, or five paws to some superb, unashamed 'three star' accommodation that consistently provides superb quality experiences for the price.
We care a great deal about location, whether in the bush or on the beach, and in many cases this has influenced our choice. It is unorthodox, it may seem at odds with the world view, but we can explain... and we urge you to call us to discuss!

With 2 Championship golf courses, a coral reef and a watersports lagoon, Belle Mare Plage has plenty to offer alongside it's stunning 2km long white sandy beach and expansive tropical garden.
The junior suite rooms are huge and well designed and they offer interconnecting Junior suites for families. There is also a choice of 4 restaurants though the main restaurant although it is a buffet option has amazing food
3 swimming pools and a great kids club mean that there is always somewhere to escape from your and other people’s children
For those with a bigger budget the private villas are a wonderful addition to the hotel and have been frequented by al sort of celebrities

Belle Mare Plage The Resort, Body Harmony has won the Silver Award in the category Best Resort Spa Overseas.Belle Mare Plage The Resort, Body Harmony has won the Silver Award in the category Best Resort Spa Overseas, with the 2005 Holidays for Couples Readers’ Choice Awards. ‘Holidays for Couples’ is an Australian Magazine with a print out of 30,000 copies published twice a year. It is distributed in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia and has a readership of 100,000. Voting was opened to the public only and there was an approximate of 1300 voters. Body harmony came in at 95.2% overall.
German Chef wins Culinary Festival Bernard Loiseau.Dirk Schroer, Michelin-starred chef of the restaurant "Caroussel" - Bülow Residenz Hotel, Dresden, Germany, is the winner of the 4th edition of the Culinary Festival Bernard Loiseau which took place at Constance Belle Mare Plage from the 15th to 21st March 2009. His binôme for the competition was the island chef of Constance Lemuria Resort of Praslin, Daniel Agathine.

Lemuria is a superb hotel. Recently bult and bringing with it a very Mauritian feel this hotel is wonderfull for honeymooners, families and golfers alike. the hotel's private beach - Anse Georgette - is simply staggering and one of the best in the Seychelles
A good hotel on a lovely beach with a wonderful old colonial feel. However, there are drawbacks; there is only one main pool, the rooms are slightly small and the spa is subterranean.
The jewel in hotel Constance's crown, Prince Maurice is one of the smaller of the hotels on the island. Superb rooms with either a beach or lagoon view and a lovely huge pool. One drawback is that the beach is not as good as others on the East Coast.
