LE PARADIS

Mauritius, West Coast

Le Paradis: Our View

The larger Beachcomber property in the south-west of the island.  This is a large hotel with underwhelming rooms though this area is wonderful for water sports and golf and the backdrop of Le Morne makes a great setting.

Although it is a 5 star hotel, we give it 3 palms, since we think that there are better and cheaper hotels on the island. Looking a bit tired now, though a great setting for Golf lovers

Le Paradis: The Detail

This is a fantastic location on a sandy peninsula between the impressive peaks of Le Morne and the Indian Ocean within Mauritius, surrounded by seven kilometres of glorious beach. This fine five star resort includes a challenging 18 hole golf course, Clarins Spa and range of watersports along its 7km stretch of beach.

The surrounding coral reef creates and idyllic calm environment for all watersports and swimming, and new deluxe rooms enjoy great sea views. The hotel makes a fair exchange of restaurant use with the neighbouring Dinarobin Hotel, so providing guests with a choice of seven dining options.

Rooms are good, there are options to stay in one of 13 private villas, each with their own private stretch of beach, or in the superior and deluxe rooms, each with two floors, and bougainvillea adorned terraces. The junior and family suites are one level, but all spacious and good, many with sea views.

Belle Mare Plage is a big hotel, with just over 200 rooms, but with a huge footprint along a seriously stunning expanse of beach, you are guarenteed private moments and enjoy extremely good service.

A very very stylish hotel in a lovely old colonial style.  The pool is huge and the rooms and common parts are great.  A step up from the next door Heritage, though too French for our liking.
Mauritius, East Coast
A good hotel on a lovely beach with a wonderful old colonial feel. However, there are drawbacks; there is only one main pool, the rooms are slightly small and the spa is subterranean.
