Bilila Lodge: Our ViewBilila is a 77 room hotel owned by the Kempinski chain. Located in the heart of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, the hotel offers very high levels of luxury and comfort with great food and a great location looking over a water hole frequented daily by elephant herds. The lodges location, just North of the central Seronera river valley, guarantees some of Africa’s finest game viewing with predators not found in higher number anywhere else in the park. The rooms are very luxurious with balconies looking onto the plains and stunning suites and private villas hosting some of the finest accommodations in the country. Guiding here is of a ok standard and general levels of food and service are set very high. Stays in the lodge are recommended for a minimum of two nights. Bilila certainly feels more like a hotel rather than a small intimate safari lodge- so ideal for those looking for the comforts and facilities of a large hotel chain. Bilila Lodge: The DetailLocated just north of Seronera in the central Serengeti, Bilila Lodge sits high on a raised terrain with the view over the Serengeti and constant game moving through the lodge due to their permanent water hole, this is a large hotel which offers all the facilities you would expect from a large international hotel anywhere in the world. All of its 77 rooms and suites, including the five private Villas are complemented with butler service and decorated with handpicked African artwork. Between game driving you may relax at the infinity pool, browse the library or rejuvenate at the Anantara Spa. The lodge’s facilities include a restaurant, bar, lobby lounge, ‘boma’, wine cellar, library, games room, conference room, art gallery and gift shop. The two restaurants offer a choice of 6 cuisines daily, a snooker room soon to feature a cigar parlor, a wine cellar with some of the worlds most sought after wines make this place combine the height of luxury with romance in magnificent African wilderness surroundings. Every room is complimented with a view of the Serengeti plains, but due to the size of the hotel you will need to travel from the restaurant to your room by golf cart or walk on the raised walk ways. Bilila Lodge: Client ReviewsBilila Lodge Kempinski - The location is of course beautiful, situated in the Seronera area of the Serengeti. We were collected from the airstrip by a superb driver who turned-out to be our guide/driver for all the private game-drives we'd organised through the hotel. The hotel itself is luxurious and stylish, delivering all modern requirements yet somehow without losing the true feeling of being in the middle of the Serengeti with the most perfect of views available from hotel rooms, infiniti pool, terrace or restaurant. Staff were brilliant and incredibly friendly, providing world-class service. The food was again world-class and to rival some Michelin rated restaurants in my opinion. The real star of the show is of course the Serengeti itself and our very skilled and friendly driver/guide showed superb knowledge and got us around to see everything possible. That included two sightings of leopards and even a pair of mating lions, which I'd assume is relatively rare. My wife and I were very impressed none-the-less. This Kempinski hotel demonstrated what's possible with some thought and attention, offering true luxury in the middle of the Serengeti for those wanting to experience the place without perhaps sleeping under canvas. This is a beautiful hotel that has a very personal feel to it (as good as a big hotel can go) and a great location in the park. It has the edge on other hotels of its size, as the small huts allow for a real sense of privacy and feeling of being out in the bush.

Dunia is a great 8 tent mobile camp in the central Serengeti, Seronera area. Great value compared to some of its neighbours and ideal if you are looking for an intimate safari experience in this game rich area compared with some of the larger permanent hotels near by. Fantastic for the Migration December though to July.
