Blue Bay: Our ViewIt is one of the best resort accommodations on Zanzibar. In the same league as Breezes, the hotel has a charming atmosphere, set away from that of a large resort. The rooms are great and there is a real vibrant atmosphere. Like Breezes it is very good for families and groups, but given that they are both very similarly priced, we much prefer Breezes due to it being much smaller, yet it offers a similar product. We only give Blue Bay 2 palms due to it being rather large, when you have the alternative of Breezes which offers a very similar product at the same price and is not so big. Blue Bay: The DetailThis is a comfortable accommodation in a large resort style, it provides amenities ranging from conference rooms to disco clubs and children clubs. The hotel also provides a Fitness Centre, a flood lit tennis court, 5 star PADI Scuba Diving Centre and a Water Sports Centre with windsurfers, canoes and sailing boats. Bluebay Beach Resort offers Superior rooms, Garden rooms, Deluxe rooms, Club 24 rooms and Sultan suites. Each consists of a spacious bedroom, separate dressing room, en-suite bathroom and verandah or balcony. All rooms are tastefully decorated using traditional Zanzibari furniture to include large four poster beds with mosquito nets, a writing bureau, coffee table and easy chairs. Split level air conditioners, ceiling fans, satellite TV's, mini-bars, hair dryers and telephones add a touch of luxury to each room. The resort is committed to the preservation of the environment. For example, they employ reverse osmosis technology to purify underground water in order to make it fit for human consumption. This reduces the impact of the hotel on Zanzibars fresh water resources. Bluebay Beach Resort has been officially recognized and commended by the Government of Zanzibar for its outstanding contribution to the preservation of the environment of the island. The Beach Bar and Restaurant, as the name implies, is situated on the very edge of the beautiful Indian Ocean and is an ideal place for guests to sip cold drinks or to enjoy a feast of seafood specialties, pizzas prepared in our authentic wood fired oven as well as other light fare, all served in an informal setting with toes in the sand and a magnificent thatched roof to shade guests from the hot tropical sun. Zanzibar, North Coast
One of our favourite hotels on Zanzibar and one of the best along the East African coast. The beach here is the best on Zanzibar and unlike much of the east coast, is free of hawkers and general hustlers. Nungwi village just down the coast is a great place to go out and have a few drinks or a bite of lunch.
