Nomad Tanzania’s Entamanu Ngorongoro sits on the remote north-western corner of the Ngorongoro Crater rim. This is the wild side of this iconic wildlife destination and the camp is a thoughtfully designed refuge in this elemental place from which to explore the unique highland environment. Entamanu Ngorongoro (meaning ‘circle’ in Maa) is the only place in the world where you can enjoy views into both the Crater and the Serengeti.
Entamanu Ngorongoro - The Details
Surrounded by volcanic peaks, in a grove of Acacia Lahai trees draped in feathery moss, the camp looks towards the sunrise over the Crater, while the sun sets behind camp over the vast Southern Serengeti plains. It is the only place in the world where you can enjoy both views from one location. There is nothing tame about this location - the high altitude sun has some real heat and the wind can be biting and sometimes noisy.
Nomad have taken up the challenge to create a camp that makes the most of the extraordinary views and the experience of this lost world where the Crater is still relatively undiscovered, while providing warmth and shelter from the elements - and all the while being entirely removable. The camp has six stunning canvas rooms, two of which are family units made up of two fill size rooms with a shared bathroom, all with views in into the Crater and surrounding highlands.
