KASHA BOUTIQUE HOTEL

Zanzibar, East Coast

Kasha Boutique Hotel: Our View

Kasha is great value for money. Although, it lacks a beach like most destinations in this area, it does compromise this well with great facilities in-house. Our experience suggests it needs a bit of time to develop to the standard of some of its competitors, having opened in 2009 and still seems to have a few issues. The rooms are need more outdoor privacy as they are pretty close together without much vegetation or barrier in between. Your private plunge pool is rather exposed.

On this basis we have only rated it 3 palms as, like all lodges in Zanzibar, there is always a bit of a teething process before they really get going. We have stayed here and think it is great but we have had a few issues! Superb location, great views, lovely room interiors, but should be slightly cheaper.

Kasha Boutique Hotel: The Detail

Kasha Boutique Hotel is located on the North East coast of Zanzibar, in Matemwe, the hotel, which is built on a cliff, has 11 luxury Villas, situated with an amazing view over the lagoon of the Mnemba Atoll coral reef.

The spacious Swahili-Arabic style villas are a luxurious experience, each with a private Baraza outdoor lounge and own splash pool with sun terrace. The sounds of the light breezes blowing over the open landscape, together with the Indian Ocean waves against the coral barrier reef sooths away burdens of day-to-day life.

During low tide, the white sandy beach is reachable by a stair case and during high tide the natural sea pool is accessible from a wooden plank, or why not have a cocktail by the pool bar.

The Sama Restaurant has a team of professionals who prepare menus which celebrate the spices of Zanzibar and the finest catches from the Indian Ocean. Run by a very enthusiastic couple, their energy certainly rubs off onto their staff.

Zanzibar, North Coast
One of our favourite hotels on Zanzibar and one of the best along the East African coast. The beach here is the best on Zanzibar and unlike much of the east coast, is free of hawkers and general hustlers. Nungwi village just down the coast is a great place to go out and have a few drinks or a bite of lunch.
Zanzibar, East Coast
Set on tip of an Eastern peninsula of Zanzibar, Kono Kono is surrounded by a protected reserve, allowing extreme privacy. The lodge itself is tranquil and remote and the rooms extremely spacious, all offering the joy of a private plunge pool!
