Kusini Tented Camp: Our ViewKusini is fabulous. It has an excellent location, in the depths of the southern Serengeti, far away from the crowds. It has extremely high standards of service and overall quality. And is, in our view, one of the best places to watch the Migration from whe the herds are in the south of the Serengeti. Prices have been creeping up a little and its nearby competition can offer a similar experience for less money, but it is the remoteness that wins it for Kusini. Kusini is a brilliant camp of exceptional quality. But the prices are getting quite steep. There are some good mobile camps that get you away from the crowds and among the migration for better value. Kusini Tented Camp: The DetailLocated in the South West of the Serengeti well away from the principle tourist circuit, Kusini Tented Camp offers guests the rare opportunity to experience the Serengeti the way it should be. Many people regard Kusini Tented Camp as one of the best lodges, certainly in the Serengeti but also in the whole of Northern Tanzania. It is, however, seasonal with the migration and good from mid December to March. Kusini Tented Camp has twelve large en-suite tents all of which have been finished to a luxurious standard and all up on raised wooden decks. The main area of the Kusini Tented Camp has a very large dining area, library and the lounge has a large wooden deck. The camp itself is built on a raised kopje surrounded by woodland - providing stunning views of the plains below from the main deck. Aside from the luxury of the camp, what really sets Kusini Tented Camp apart is its remote location, in the deep South West of the Serengeti. This is the Serengeti 40 years ago, with masses of resident wildlife. It is, in our view, one of the best places to see the Migration from. We really like Beho Beho, and not just for the luxury! It combines all the elements that make the safari experience memorable, with beautiful views, great game and fantastic guides. In our view, it is easily the best lodge in the park and one of the top 3 in Africa! Serengeti, Central
Dunia is a great 8 tent mobile camp in the central Serengeti, Seronera area. Great value compared to some of its neighbours and ideal if you are looking for an intimate safari experience in this game rich area compared with some of the larger permanent hotels near by. Fantastic for the Migration December though to July.
