THE TIDES
Tanzania Mainland Coast
The Tides: Our ViewGreat beach, great lodge….overall a very nice off the beaten track choice! What Tides has over other destinations on the mainland coast is a whole range of activities, including good diving, making it a very good and affordable destination for people wanting to stay away from Zanzibar. Now there are daily scheduled flights to their airstrip access is much easier. If you like an ‘off-the-beaten-track’ location with a superb beach, excellent food and rooms that are right on the beach, then consider The Tides....a great lodge for families. We love tides. It is an honest, very welcoming place which offers everything you need for a beach holiday and is perfect for families and honeymooners. The flights are quite expensive to get there so the only downside is that it doesn’t favour the short stay client looking to save. It gets a very deserved 4 paws. The Tides: Fast Facts$165 per person per night (high season)
The Tides: The DetailSet on a sandy palm fringed, picture postcard bay, on the remote and un-spoilt beach while runs south from Pangani The Tides consists of 9 rooms and 2 suites all with sea views and access to the beautiful beach. Small and intimate, the lodge offers a high level of personal service in an unobtrusive and unpretentious manner. Guests can enjoy excellent cuisine where the house chef specializes in seafood, delivered daily by the local fishermen. The cottages, which are set amid the palms lining the beach, are spacious, bright and breezy and have large well appointed bathrooms. All have their own sunbathing area under the shade of the palm trees for guests’ privacy with the azure blue waters of the Indian Ocean a perfect place to float and consider the world! The Tides: Client Reviews
This is just a quick note to say we so much enjoyed our few very relaxing days at Tides. Thank you for making everything tick like clockwork. Excellent standard and very comfortable well serviced rooms.
Also to say out of our 3 pretty spoiling weeks in Tanzania (no roughing it!) your food came out way on top for presentation, variety and cooking quality. Very popular so please thank your chefs. Good food always makes for a good holiday. (Bad food is talked about for ever!!)

Quiet, away from it, all but with fabulous rooms, great food and friendly unpretentious service. This is the best value beach accommodation and one of the most beautiful small lodges to be found anywhere in Tanzania.

Quite a different style of exclusive accommodation is provided here, tucked about ten minutes away at the other end of the beach from Ras Kutani close to Dar es Salaam.

Mchanga Beach Lodge is a real find and is still very much an undiscovered lodge on a great little beach. Set away from the large hotel resorts both up and down the coast, the feeling of the lodge is of being in an unspoilt enclave.
