This is a very good option in the family/resort style of hotel. The comparisons with Breezes, which is located about 100km further south, are inevitable as they are approximately the same size and offer the same sort of experience. With the choice of rooms being between standard and suite all of the rooms are very nice. All in all this is a good hotel if the resort style is what you are after, but for a better beach, facilities and service for around the same price, go to Breezes.

If you are looking for this type of resort, then you may as well just go for Breezes. You get a lot more for it. So Ocean Paradise only gets 1 palm.

Zanzibar Ocean Paradise: The Detail

It is one of the longest running hotels of its kind on Zanzibar, and it is the most recently upgraded. The reasons for its popularity become clear when you arrive.

Situated on the north eastern coastline of the island, you will be provided with as much beautiful white sand and gently swaying palm trees as you are after. As the trade winds waft by it is possible to relax in the large pool, dip toes in the warm Indian Ocean or simply read a book on your private balcony.

With approximately 80 rooms, all featuring air conditioning and ethnic decoration, the hotel has a relaxed feel. For the children there is a pretty good activities team that will keep them occupied for a few hours, with volley ball, billiards and table tennis tournaments.

It has 3 restaurants to choose from and great for massive corporate groups to make use of the conference centre and catering.

It is one of the best resort accommodations on Zanzibar. In the same league as Breezes, the hotel has a charming atmosphere, set away from that of a large resort. Rooms are great and thgere is a real vibrant atmosphere.
We will stress though, that this is the best of the large resorts, it is not a luxury small hideaway.
