ZANZIBAR SERENA INN

Stone Town, Zanzibar

Zanzibar Serena Inn: Our View

The Serena Inn is not so in keeping with Stone Town's character but quite frankly, that is a good thing!  It offers a great escape from what can be quite a hectic little town.  The pool is the nicest in town and with great views out to sea this is the best place for sunset cocktails.  Attention should be paid to which room you book....the prime rooms are especially good value.

We give the Serena Inn 5 palms because it is the best accommodation in Stone Town. It is modern, has great views and reasonably good value.

Zanzibar Serena Inn: The Detail

The Serena Inn is a medium sized hotel perfectly located in the slightly quieter area of this busy city, but still being close enough to experience everything that Stone Town offers.  Expect the same standard of food and service you find at all Serenas across the world.

The grand hall has been entirely decked out with antiques and artefacts, including an ancient telephone from its external communications days, with a view to recreating a sense of the opulence of the Zanzibari hey-days.  It occupies a prime location on the waterfront near the town centre, and is the only hotel in town with a particularly inviting swimming pool.  It is spaciously grand and expensive, but service and ocean-view dining are very good.

The Serena Inn is a great hotel to perhaps spend your last night of your holiday before taking a short flight back to Dar es Salaam.  This is the best choice in Stone Town.

Zanzibar Serena Inn: Client Reviews

Zanzibar Serena Inn, Stonetown. How I wish we had booked in for more than 1 night! we didn't even get breakfast because we had to leave at 5am and this hotel is really beautiful. We explored a bit of stonetown with my friend, went on a daladala to her house (quite an experience!) and had goodfood in Al Johari (delicious crab!). It was a stunning holiday, and we have fabulous life-long memories. Thank you!

Zanzibar Serena was a very elegant hotel in Stone Town. It is a beautiful building with a lovely pool. The food was not as good as at Ras Nungwi. We liked Stone Town and had fun walking around and doing some shopping. Sadly no Tanzanite was bought for me.
