The Manta Resort: Our ViewThe Manta offers great value for money if you are looking to stay in this very remote area of the island of Pemba and if you are keen to experience some of the best diving off the coast of Tanzania. The lodge is in a great location looking out of the north west of the island and we really like the beach however the lodge is slightly rough around the edges in some areas but at this price and on all inclusive basis this is good option which we will keep an eye on. We give the Manta 3 Palms as it offers some great value for money, a remote spot and offers great diving on Pemba island, if you are looking for more luxury on the Island then it is worth looking at Fundu Lagoon. The Manta Resort: The DetailThe Manta Resort is located at the very northern tip of the island of Pemba and is about 1.5 Hour drive from the capital Chake Chake. Pemba is a real tropical and is a very remote relaxed option for a beach stay off the mainland Tanzania coast. The Manta resort has been on the island for a few decades in different forms, originally as a basic dive lodge but in 2008 it had a face lift and now offers a great mid budget relaxed beach resort in this very remote area of the island. The lodge compromises of 17 rooms, 6 beach front, 4 superior garden rooms and 7 standard garden rooms. The rooms are all air conditioned fairly, clean and comfortable and the beach front villas have a balcony with day bed to relax on. The main area where the dining room and bar is the best location to hang out as the view of the ocean and the reef are fantastic there are areas in the sun and also shade to relax and you are close to the good sized swimming pool which is located down just one level. The Manta is a great hotel for those interested in diving and snorkelling; there are plenty of dive spots nearby and around this area of the island. You may also likeZanzibar, North Coast
The Ocean Suite has an incredibly spacious 200 square metres of living space is at the disposal of no more than two guests at a time. The secluded sundeck, complete with private plunge pool and stylish furnishings, offers a private and romantic escape, perfect for honeymooners.
Tanzania Mainland Coast
Quiet, away from it, all but with fabulous rooms, great food and friendly unpretentious service. This is the best value beach accommodation and one of the most beautiful small lodges to be found anywhere in Tanzania.
Pemba
Although Fundu's beach isn't as good as some of the beaches on Zanzibar, they have access to nearby islands which are fabulous.
