Tent With A View is very close to the Saadani marine park and situated on a beautiful deserted white sand beach in the North of Saadani National Park.  An innovative, well-run and hands-on beach and safari experience, great for families.

Tent With a View used to be the jack of all trades, it is now mastering them all. It has always had a fine Indian Ocean beach, but now also a specialised marine park and properly worthwhile safari interest. And, the tents are increasingly less tent-like with every passing season... Nowadays accommodation is in 9 high life bandas, 3 suites and a very special honeymoon suite (complete with its own sunken bath set deep within the mangroves). All of these rooms are raised up high on wooden stilted viewing platforms facing the Indian Ocean. Families are well accommodated, and groups of 4 or less may enjoy a fantastic night on 'Sadaani Afloat'; not a tent at all, but a dhow with sleeping cabins moored on the Wami River.

The atmosphere is one of focused wildlife conservation and a developing area for game. The Saadani Elephant OProject monitors growing herds in the park, and elephant action around camp is likely. The marine park was set up to protect turtle hatchlings, and the park has a healthy population of rare sable antelope.  There is a choice of game drives, walking safaris & boat safaris or alternatively, there are plenty of marked nature trails around the 300 acre plot or a canoe ride on the Mafui creek, next to the research centre. 

The lodge is styled using local materials and built by local craftsmen. The bathrooms and the bar area were built utilising coconut bark felled by elephants, and timbers taken from dhows, broken and buried in the beach. This helps to give the lodge a rustic feel, but in a luxurious style. The lounge, bar area and star gazer are raised up on stilted wooden platforms so that the communal areas can benefit from the sea breeze.
