Our View
Busanga Bush Camp is one of our favourite camps in the Kafue. Originally a privately run camp, now run by Wilderness Safaris and have still left the lodge with its original charm. The location is superb, with good predator concentration and stunning views over the Busanga Plains. Not as luxurious as nearby Shumba, the camp caters for the safari enthusiast!
Our View
Chisa Busanga Camp may look like it’s been plucked out of a gimmicky ‘world’s quirkiest hotels’ article - but its draw doesn’t necessarily lie in its incredible bird nest architecture. The Busanga plains in Kafue is one of Africa’s wildest and most spoiling locations for safar-lovers. Staying here is the epitome of isolation in the wilderness, and Chisa offers a truly intimate, quality stay, which is why we love it.
Our View
Opened in March 2024, Ila Safari Lodge is Zambia’s most inspiring new offering. Set in the wonderful Kafue National Park, this new luxury option will be a welcome addition for seasoned safari-goers looking for a mind-blowing experience in one of Africa’s remotest parks.
Our View
We vote Wilderness Safaris' Shumba Camp as Kafue’s best. It's in a great setting and has a real emphasis on the luxury experience. The area is visited by few guests so safaris here are very exclusive and the quality of guiding set very high. The Busanga Plains is famous for its predator concentrations and Shumba is set right in the best area….big game driving here is superb.
