Robin's House: Our View
Robin's House is the best option for small families wanting a private trip to the Luangwa and a team of staff capable of looking after all ages. The game viewing area is superb and we happily recommend that clients leave their children with the staff whilst they go out on their own drives. Larger parties of 5 or more would be better off at the nearby Luangwa Safari House.
Robins House only gets 3 paws due to the fact that the house feels somewhat dated compared with other options in the area. Luangwa Safari House nearby is unquestionably the better private house, albeit one that does not cater as well for small children.

Robin's House: The Detail
Robin's House was originally a private home. It is located in the same grounds as Robin Pope Safari’s main camp Nkwali, in the Mfuwe area on the boundary of the South Luangwa National park. The house is now open to clients and is the perfect place for a family safari, honeymooners and guests looking for a little privacy.
Robin's House is set on the banks of the Luangwa River under a grove of shady trees. There are two luxury bedrooms (a double and a triple), each with its own large bathroom (both shower and bath), and a central sitting room and dining area.
There is a private kitchen and chef, along with a valet, so meals can be served where and when you like. This is particularly important for families with children. There is also a private guide and safari vehicle for the gameviewing activities so the pace of the safari can be totally flexible.
The house takes pride in taking each family as they come - and at the start of the safari the guide and hostess will sit with you and discuss all aspects of the stay from food to bed times. The hostess is there to ensure that each child has the best safari possible for their age and interests. They are also able to look after the children if they want to stay behind and miss a drive. A wide range of activities are on offer for the children based in camp.
Robin's House accommodates up to 5 adults, more with smaller children. The house is considered to be a luxury getaway that is open all year and offers walking, morning drives and night drives, if the river's high enough in the rains then there is the option of a boating safari.

Chongwe River House is quite a remarkable and unique design. Having been refurbished recently, the house is a destination in itself - one that would cater perfectly for families or small groups who want to have all the benefits of a private home.
Nsefu is certainly one of the better known camps in the Luangwa and with exceptional guiding standards you cannot be let down. The setting is stunning - the views are absolutely beautiful (up there with the very best in the park) and the lodge has a great old-fashioned character.
