Sapi Explorer Camp

Sapi Explorer Camp is the new camp from Great Plains. Small, intimate and located in a very large private concession that runs adjacent to the Eastern borders of Mana Pools National Park, Sapi is a must for safari lovers. This is a newly opened concession which has some wonderful game viewing opportunities and is an excellent addition to a Mana Pools safari.

Sapi Explorer Camp - The Details

The five lage safari canvas tents all hark back up to a bygone era of colonial Victorian adventure and travel. Very similar to their Explorer Camps in Botswana, Great Plains have kitted Sapi out with brass fittings, fans, carpets, wooden trunks and a writing desk that over looks the Zambezi River. This really is like stepping back in time.

The open sided mess tent and lounge area are simply designed in typical Great Plains style accompanied by excellent food and service.

Game viewing down on the flood plains is excellent, plus inland the many waterholes attract large amounts of game. Again, as with all Mana Pools camps, although it is renowned for its walking safaris, the water activities are a must.

Sapi Explorer also makes for a great combination with Sapi Springs.

The best time of year is during the dry season (July - October) when vegetation is at its thinnest and water at its scarcest resulting in some amazing game viewing.
