Little Kwara is currently closed. It is being reconstructed and we will bring you updates once this has been completed.
Little Kwara is the sister camp to Kwara itself and again, Kwando have come up with the goods! The main reason we love Kwando is their dedication to the client experience. They focus so much on the quality of their guides and providing a real safari atmosphere in camp that they have become incredibly well regarded by safari connoisseurs. The camp is unpretentious, intimate and authentic and the game area, with access to big river safaris. So Little Kwara does not let you down, carrying all the quality we expect from the Kwando tag.
Little Kwara - The Details
Little Kwara is located on the Kwara concession which is located in the North-East of the Okavango Delta. The flight from Maun is between 20 to 40 minutes depending on the flight routing. The airstrip is roughly a 15 minute drive from the camp.
This is an intimate five-roomed camp and is consistent with the Kwando Safaris promise: 'intimate camps, in private areas, with personal service - vintage africa'. While the camp will share a name with the well known, 16 bedded Kwara Camp also operated by Kwando Safaris, Little Kwara Camp is a completely separate camp from Kwara.
The main area of the camp is split into two areas - a communal lounge area with two sections leading to a dining area and the swimming pool. The tents are spacious, and are elevated into the tree canopy on wooden decks each with its own private veranda. Each tent has its own en-suite facilities comprising bathroom with bath and an inside/outside shower. This is an ideal camp for exclusive use by small groups and families making it one of the more luxurious camps for an
African Safari.
The presence of permanent water at Little Kwara ensures excellent year-round game viewing and mokoro trips (dugout canoes). The Kwara concession is one of the most diverse in the Delta - from thick mopane forests to shady acacia islands, from wide open grass plains to big lagoons, Kwara holds an abundance of game and does very well in terms of predators.
Activities here consist of walking safaris, mokoro trips, boat rides, game drives, night drives and fishing.
