Mma Dinare is a brilliant option for those who want a private slice of the Okavango Delta and a serious safari experience but with a splash of poolside luxury. While water-based Okavango activities including mekoro rides are usually allowed (water level dependent), you don’t get the winding waterways of other concessions. Saying that though, Kwando - the trusted and experienced company running the concession - are serious about safari, so you’re in exceptionally good hands.

Mma Dinare - The Facts

The camp is set on the Gomoti River in the private Dinare concession, 4km away from its sister camp Rra Dinare. One side of camp has riverside views, and the others look onto a popular buffalo grazing plain. The concession is a subdivision of the Santawani area - a community area limited to forty guests across the two camps, making for an exclusive safari experience.

The decorative ethos is one of thatched openness, so it’s not overly fussy but has a nice permanent lodge feel throughout camp, with a raised swimming area and a boma set out onto the floodplains. The nine rooms each have their own verandas - essential for those sweeping river or floodplain views, and for spotting the wildlife that wander in and out of your private vista. Rooms also have lounge areas with armchairs as well as outdoor showers and double vanity basins. One suite is a family tent, which is configured as a standard tent connected to a smaller one.

Outside of camp, the wildlife viewing opportunities are exciting and varied, with four brother cheetahs often spotted in the area, the Gomoti Pride of lions, and wild dogs also flit in and out of the concession. The brilliant density of buffalo, often spotted around camp, can also attract exciting predator action. Walking safaris are also available depending on the vegetation levels, and night drives are allowed in the Dinare concession. Water activities are seasonal, so it's best to check with us if this is a priority.
