Rra Dinare provides the classic tented safari experience without scrimping on added luxuries like a refreshing main area pool and wooden private viewing decks. Run by old hats Kwando Safaris, Rra Dinare offers a proper safari experience with knowledgeable guides. Set in a private concession adjacent to Moremi in the south-east of the Okavango Delta, it's also packed full of exciting wildlife. You can’t go wrong with Rra Dinare - especially when the price is slashed in low season.

Rra Dinare - The Facts

Rra Dinare’s eight tents, including a guide and family tent, overlook the Gomoti River and its floodplains, offering a brilliant vantage point for game viewing from camp. The intimate set up is made up of open thatched spaces that blend into their natural surroundings, and rooms have a viewing deck, outside seating, a lounge area with armchairs, and the added luxury of an outdoor shower. The main area has open-sided dining, a lounge, bar, and a raised fire pit set out into the floodplains making for an enviable sundowner spot.

Dinare means ‘many buffalo’ in Setswana, referring to the herds that roam the floodplains in front of camp, often attracting good numbers of lions to its doors too. Day and night drives and walking safaris are available, and seasonal water activities, depending on the Okavango Delta floods.

The area itself has great wildlife, with four cheetah brothers regularly seen and the Gomoti Pride of lions often close by. Wild dogs have also been known to flit in and out of the concession, while at certain times of year after rainfall there’s a huge number of hippos and crocs.
