Mokolwane is an intimate but relaxed Okavango Delta camp set in a brilliant leopard-viewing, 200,000-hectre concession. This is an ideal base for small groups looking for an exclusive Okavango experience without breaking the bank. It’s also just a really barefoot luxury existence here - but the food, guiding and experience is top notch.

Mokolwane - The Facts

Set under a canopy of Mokolwane palms, the camp is made up of just seven rooms - all tented and on stilts, with plush beds, balconies and wooden floors. The main area is also raised off the ground, but the campfire keeps things simple, with the classic safari set up of folding chairs around a cracking fire.

Although the tents are more than comfortable - and the food will be not just good but delicious - this camp isn't about what’s happening on the inside. The wildlife here is incredible, with wild dog, cheetah and lion for days. It's also the only camp for miles around, so you really do exist in your own little patch of safari paradise.

The camp is open year-round, but is best enjoyed in the classic Okavango dry season, from May until September, when the Delta is in full flood and the animals congregate as a result.

Activities on offer are the standard Okavango adventures, including game drives in the mornings and evenings, mokoro rides, bird watching, and even a helicopter flight is an option.
