KATI KATI TENTED CAMP

Serengeti

Kati Kati Tented Camp: Our View

Although this isn’t our preferred location in the Serengeti with regards to getting away from the crowds, Kati Kati does the best it can, given its area. So value for money you can’t really beat it and it is spot on for the migration from April to mid July and November to the beginning of January. It a perfect value for money tented camp and is great for keeping the cost down.

We give Kati Kati 4 paws on the basis that it is good value for money compared to some of its competitors, it makes these usual northern circuit good value. However, a little extra money can improve your Serengeti experience significantly.

Kati Kati Tented Camp: The Detail

Kati Kati is located in the Seronera area of the Serengeti and nicely tucked away from the main group of larger lodges in the area. The Camp is about 40 minutes drive from the Seronera airstrip which is easiest accessed from Arusha, by light aircraft. However, the camp is perfect for a driving circuit of Northern Tanzania.

Unlike the majority of other mobile tented camps, Kati Kati is much larger than the standard eight room camps and has 15 tents. The main area consists of a dining room with a communal table layout and to one side is a library and lounge area. Given that your days are sonnet out in the bush, you don’t really need a fully comprehensive camp with swimming pools and gyms and Taki Taki a gap perfectly.

The tents are typical A-framed safari style canvas tents with en suite bathrooms and there are flush toilets. The bedrooms have wither twin or double beds and are or a good size, but not huge.

Being in the central Serengeti you are solely limited to game drives as being your only activity. But if you combine Kati Kati logically with the crater and Manyara you can get a good mix of experiences.
