Mbalageti Lodge: Our ViewWhilst Mbalageti Lodge is comparatively large compared with many other camps/lodges in the Western Corridor, the quality and location of the lodge (in terms of service, food etc) more than makes of for this fact. All in all Mbalageti Lodge would definitely be one of our favourites within the Western Corridor, but if your budget and taste permits, the smaller more intimate mobile tented camps would be our first recommendation in the area. Mbalageti Lodge: The DetailLying in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, Mbalageti Lodge has superb resident game and is also in an ideal location for one to witness the migration as it pushes up North. Perched on the Mwamyeni Hill, Mbalageti Lodge has commanding views of the vast Dutwa plain, a great vantage point for the watching the migreation. The Lodge itself comprises of 40 tastefully decorated rooms; 14 standard lodge room’s ideal for those a budget, 24 well spaced out and well stylishly designed luxury tented chalets and finally 2 executive suites which each have two large bedrooms which are both en-suite, a lounge/dining room and outside deck area with stunning views of the Dutwa plain. The main public area at Mbalageti Lodge consists of a large restaurant, bar and pool all of which are decorated in local artwork and wood carvings which help to give an ambience of true Africa. Grumeti is a fabulous, beautifully appointed camp in the Western Serengeti, located on the Grumeti River, one of the crossing points of the annual Great Migration. Safaris in this part of the Serengeti can be simply stunning. Serengeti, Central
Dunia is a great 8 tent mobile camp in the central Serengeti, Seronera area. Great value compared to some of its neighbours and ideal if you are looking for an intimate safari experience in this game rich area compared with some of the larger permanent hotels near by. Fantastic for the Migration December though to July.
