Kings Pool

Kings Pool has historically been one of the most luxurious camps in the Linyanti area. However, recent changes from Wilderness Safaris means that it will actually be a “classic camp” as opposed to it’s current “premier camp” status. The changes will be complete in June 2019. Don’t worry though, it is not going to completely lose its luxury! It will still be of high Wilderness standard, but the added frills like private plunge pools are being taken out and the whole lodge is being rebuilt to be as eco-friendly as possible. The location is magical, and the reserve is also well regarded as housing one of the highest predator concentrations anywhere meaning that the high prices guarantees great game viewing. In summary a fantastic camp, and one which we are excited to see when it re-opens.

Kings Pool - The Details

The accommodation is in 9 huge canvas tents with thatched roofs raised on wooden platforms, complete with your own private plunge pool.  The rooms themselves have huge four poster beds, draped with mosquito netting and covered with soft linen.  Lavish en-suite bathrooms have his and hers basins, outdoor showers and, as if one is not enough, there are two more indoor showers to choose from!  The large decking area outside each room looks directly onto the lagoon and comes complete with a plunge pool, sun-loungers and a sala for catching a snooze before your afternoon safari.

The lounge, dining area (food here is simply fantastic) and bar area face out over a wide expanse of decking onto the hippo-filled lagoon below.  Each night everyone comes together at the fire, chatting until dinner is served.  We highly recommend returning to bed early to appreciate the sky at night from the comfort of your outside sala or private pool in summer!  Activities include day and night game drives and walks, and boat cruises along the Linyanti River (water level dependent) offer spectacular viewing.  The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds and are a magnet for game in the dry winter months.
