LOLDIA HOUSE

Rift Valley Lakes

Loldia House: Our View

This is definitely a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the pleasures of Kenyan country life as well as explore the Great Rift Valley. Built in the Second World War it nestles under ancient Acacia trees and lush lawns run down to the shores of Lake Naivasha (the Great Rift Valley’s highest and purest lake). Indigenous plants and flowers fill the gardens.

The location of Loldia means that this lodge is by far the best accommodation for both Lake Nakuru and also Lake Naivasha. The only negative to this area is how busy it is, but if you can get ignore the crowds it’s a lovely lodge.

Loldia House: The Detail

There are beautiful views of the dormant volcano, Mount Longonot. Wild animals roam free on the farm. Small antelope wander through the gardens and in the evenings hippo munch quietly by the waterside.

In the main house there’s a choice of four en-suite double rooms, with original furniture. And three more rooms in the specially-built Loldia cottage which has its own sitting-room, fire and panoramic lake-views. Mouth-watering meals, with fish and shrimp from the lake, are served under the trees or in the old dining room….

Shompole
Since Shompole’s conception, it has really been leading the way in how to organise and successfully run a community lodge. Superbly designed with the elements of nature such as water featuring very prominently in the entire design, the lodge has a wonderfully relaxed and secluded air to it.
