MWALESHI

North Luangwa

Mwaleshi: Our View

Located miles from anywhere, Mwaleshi is one of Africa’s most remote camps - an absolute must for discerning safari enthusiasts. The area is thick with lion which are often met on walking safaris, so expect adrenalin fuelled walks and an attitude to stay out all day. We regard it as one of Africa’s finest bush camps; a truly great camp. Stay here for a minimum of 3 nights…or you will regret it.

Mwaleshi gets 5 paws because it is regarded within the industry as one of the best walking camps in Africa. The remote location guarantees seeing no one else whilst on safari here; one of the last true wilderness camps.

Mwaleshi: The Detail

Unlike the rest of Remote Africa’s locations, Mwaleshi Camp is situated in the North Luangwa National Park on a bend in the Mwaleshi river. The remoteness of the North Luangwa is the camps appeal - you will not see anyone else whilst staying here.
Offering only walking safaris, Mwaleshi is a fabulous destination for experienced safari travellers who are thrilled with the incredibly remote location.

Situated on a scenic bend of the Mwaleshi River, ten kilometres from the Luangwa confluence, Mwaleshi has four comfortable double chalets and expert resident guides. It is a simple camp where the emphasis is firmly on the wilderness experience.
A wonderful day trip to the Mwaleshi Falls, upstream of the camp, is a highlight for longer stays, otherwise stupendous walking opportunities abound. Mwaleshi is open from mid-June to the end of October.

Mwaleshi: Client Reviews

Stephen was FANTASTIC.  Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable, but also a whole lot of fun.  We were so lucky to have met him and have him exclusively - as I said, the whole stay was quite magical in every single instance.  I think that next time, (if we're so lucky), we'll have to visit Tafika, Crocodile and Chicoko - they all sound amazing.

What a truly exceptional camp! Tafika is one of the remaining owner run camps in Africa with John and Carol ever present. The result is a camp that genuinely cares for each and every one of its guests.

What a setting and what a great little camp. Our last consultant here had thirty elephant in camp the day he was leaving and literally had to be picked up by vehicle from his room! Recently a vote in the office put Old Mondoro as one of our favourite adventurous camps in the whole of Africa.
