L'ARCHIPEL

Praslin

L'Archipel: Our View

One of the better mid range hotels on Praslin - it is a close call between L'Archipel and La Reserve.  L'Archipel has a reasonable beach though is close to the famous beach at Anse Lazio.  Nice but simple rooms stretched over the extensive gardens and great food.

3 palms - a good smaller hotel on Praslin

L'Archipel: The Detail

The luxurious bungalows of the hotel nestle in the hillside overlooking a beatiful private beach called Anse Gouvernement.
All 23 rooms of the hotel are spacious (44 m2), with sea view, overhead fan and air-conditioning. All have a king size bed, direct line telephone, mini bar, tea and coffee making facility, safe, hairdryer, and satellite television. The bathroom is equipped with shower, two wash hand basins and separate toilet. Some rooms are equipped with baths. Located at the foot of the hillside, the new Senior Suites are more spacious and have improved facilities, whilst the elegant Executive Suites have an additional lounge, bathroom, jacuzzi bath and verandah.

Situated directly by the ocean, the main restaurant offers an elegant, intimate ambiance, with all the dishes created by a young and tallented Seychellois chef. Another memorable experience is the creole buffet, accompanied by a violinist. Local fresh catch of the day includes threadfin, king snapper, red mullet, barracuda, dorado, bonito, swordfish and bourgeois. The main hotel restaurant with its wonderful elevated position offers breakfasts and gourmet dinners.

There are regular complimentary boat trips to St. Pierre Island where you may enjoy some of the best snorkelling in the Seychelles.

Other activities to be revelled in are game fishing, sunset cruises, beach barbecues and boat excursions to neighbouring islands, which can be arranged with the hotel. It may be noted that many of the hillside chalets are not suitable for the elderly or infirm.

Zanzibar, North Coast
One of our favourite hotels on Zanzibar and one of the best along the East African coast. The beach here is the best on Zanzibar and unlike much of the east coast, is free of hawkers and general hustlers. Nungwi village just down the coast is a great place to go out and have a few drinks or a bite of lunch.
Zanzibar, East Coast

Baraza is luxurious all inclusive 30 bedroom hotel located on the South East coast of Zanzibar next door its sister hotels, Palms and Breezes. Lovely food with a choice of bars and restaurants to eat in, one of the best spas on the island a great hotel for both the honeymooners and the family.

Mahe
Maia was built just after the Banyan and offers a very similar experience to the Banyan Tree.  Huge suite rooms with private pools, and a lovely location on Mahe.
