Maia: Our View

Maia was built just after the Banyan and offers a very similar experience to the Banyan Tree.  Huge suite rooms with private pools, and a lovely location on Mahe.

5 paws, it is an ongoing debate in the office as to whether the Banyan or the more recent Maia are better hotels. Truthfully they are both amazing and the choice is down to the small differences

Maia: The Detail

Whether you are in a hillside or beach villa, there are glorious uninterrupted ocean views. Each villa is utterly private and designed in natural earthy tones. All have luxury air conditioned bedrooms, enormous inter-leading bathrooms, personalised bar and sophisticated in-room entertainment.

Every villa has its own infinity-edge swimming pool and seperate gazebo-style day villa with relaxation day bed and ceiling fan.
At Maia's restaurant the quality of dining and service rank among the best in the seychelles. You may dine Al Fresco at the Pool Bar next to the azure pool, or indulge your palate with the spicy perfection of Franco-Asian haute cuisine. Alternatively you may chose to have every meal freshly prepared and served in the privacy of your own villa.

When the Banyan Tree first opened it was one of a kind, huge private suites complete with a private pool, terrace and gardens. In fact you rarely needed to leave your room.  Set on a heavenly and private beach its only drawback is the price and the fact that in our summer months the main beach can be dangerous to swim off.

Baraza is luxurious all inclusive 30 bedroom hotel located on the South East coast of Zanzibar next door its sister hotels, Palms and Breezes. Lovely food with a choice of bars and restaurants to eat in, one of the best spas on the island a great hotel for both the honeymooners and the family.

Belle Mare Plage is a big hotel, with just over 200 rooms, but with a huge footprint along a seriously stunning expanse of beach, you are guarenteed private moments and enjoy extremely good service.
