The resort is large in size and to get around you can either call your butler to bring a golf cart or you can cycle yourself on the bicycles outside your villa. Some of the best food and service available on Zanzibar along with fantastic rooms and private pools means that the Residence has raised the standard of Zanzibar’s hotels. The Residence Zanzibar: The DetailThe Residence Zanzibar is the latest luxury resort to open on Zanzibar situated in the South West of the island about 1 hour 15 minutes from the Stone Town. With its sister property in Mauritius and others opening in Maldives and Tunis this is a luxury resort which carries a strong brand. The huge resort is spread out along the coast with the Luxury Beach front and Prestige Beach Front villa types on the sea front and the garden rooms are set back. All the 66 villas have air conditioning, flat screen tvs, huge bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, each with its own infinity pool outside the front next to a veranda with sun beds and then a short walk to the beach. The staff here are trained in a Mauritian style; each villa is appointed a butler who will look after any need. The food, service and drinks are a very high standard with a choice of two main restaurants to eat in and also the choice to have private dining in your villa or on your veranda. The Resort soft opened in April 2011 and is looking great, once the freshly planted vegetation has grown up and the last finishing touches are set in place this hotel will be the most luxurious large resort on the island of Zanzibar. The resort has excellent facilities as you would expect with full spa, gym, huge main swimming pool, tennis courts and kids club. The Resort out-sources the diving to ‘One Ocean’ but they do have a boat which can be used for snorkelling trips in the local area. You may also likeZanzibar, East Coast
Definitely the most luxurious small lodge on Zanzibar. The lodge has the best rooms on the Island for those of us who want all the creature comforts and also has seriously great food and service.
