Santorini Mozambique - The facts

With the white walls and touches of blue, this lodge is reminiscent of a Greek island, but has the candlelit brilliance of an African beach escape. There are two villas in this complex – The Chapel and Villa da Praia.

The Chapel is a two-bedroom private villa sleeping four people, and comes with a private chef and host, while Villa Da Praia is a bigger, four-bedroom complex sleeping eight people, also coming with its own private staff.

Outside the romantic white walls of Santorini, guests can enjoy adrenaline-pumping watersports including kitesurfing and scuba diving. The two-mile reef is brilliant for those who are serious about underwater safaris, and species to be spotted include turtles, stingrays, and sharks.

Game fishing is led by experts – official partners of the hotel – so isn’t just larking around with a rod in a boat, but can be as serious an expedition as you wish.

Those who want a more relaxing excursion can enjoy sunset dhow cruises, spa treatments or a candle-lit dinner. Or if you really want to push the boat out – literally - you can hire out the hotel’s private catamaran for a day.

Here, you can combine snorkelling, sun-soaking and delicious picnics in a day hopping around the various white-sand islands off the coast in the Bazaruto archipelago.

Nothing beats Mozambique for untouched beaches, and this hotel really captures its laid-back, serene spirit – with a nice heavy dash of luxury.
