BAZARUTO LODGE

Bazaruto Archipelago

Bazaruto Lodge: Our View

The key for us at Bazaruto is to use it as a base to explore the surrounding beaches and reefs; it is not somewhere to spend days at the lodge itself. This the most economical and arguably the best value lodge in the Bazaruto Archipelago. The recent refurbishment has made this lodge a great choice.

Bazaruto gets 3 palms. It is a great lodge but it is just lacking something

Bazaruto Lodge: The Detail

Situated on the most remote corner of Bazaruto Island, Bazaruto Lodge is in our view the best option for a good value trip to this fantastic island. There are no excessive frills and although the lodge itself is welcoming and homely it certainly does not match up to its neighbours Marlin and Benguerra.

The lodge itself has 26 shaped thatched roof bungalows that are set in lush gardens right by what is (as with everywhere in the area) a fabulous beach. With one main restaurant that has superb views out to sea (where every night dinner is announced by the sound of African drums) cuisine is of a good standard; the chefs here pride themselves on pack lunches that guests take off to secluded areas of the island. Sea Food is obviously a speciality, washed down with cocktails from one of their two bars!

Offering a diverse combination of beauty, security and relaxation the lodge is a great spot for nature lovers as well as divers and sea sports enthusiasts, especially those looking for great fishing. The water sports centre is of a good standard and for those who do not want to spend all day in the water a games room offers a rest bite from such a stressful style of living! For the more adventurous, waterskiing is available, along with a propeller of small boats including a cobra-cat. Land Rover Drives offer a new dimension and are a great way to see the entire island.

Activity is certainly the focus here with management actively involved in getting daily excursions sorted out for as many people as possible.
