Choosing your accommodation for a dream holiday is by no means an easy feat. Often people are swamped by the multitude of choices on offer, but luckily we are here to help. This page has been designed specifically to help you with your choices. Here we provide you with a comprehensive list of the best camps, lodges and hotels you can visit when booking with us. We highlight the significant differences in accommodation types and what they can offer. Our interactive menu below also allows you to search through each accommodation option, arranged by name, price, location and rating, at your own leisure.

Best Luxury Safari Lodges

With plenty of options to choose from, selecting your safari accommodation isn't easy. Different lodges can offer different experiences depending on what you are after from your holiday. Some lodges will only have small guest occupancy and offer intimate experiences, whereas other camps will cater for larger groups.

Camps can also be mobile meaning that they are not permanent structures and they will relocate depending on the season and where the animals are most likely to be. Due to the accommodation manoeuvring regularly, these camps are normally made up from a number of luxury tents. These tents however, dispel all traditional myths of what may come to mind if you think of camping. Their furnishings are luxurious and all your needs will be met. Their placement is also extra-close to the action and will certainly make you feel more at one with nature. If you have the opportunity to stay in these mobile camps, do it.

Best Beach Hotels

Just like the safari camps, there are many varying options when it comes to accommodation by the beach. Generally the more you pay, the more intimate and luxurious your accommodation will be, however we have options that can cater for all budgets. The beach hotels we offer can either be the base for a perfect romantic getaway or for an ideal adventure and activity filled holiday.

Best Safari Lodges

It is very hard to rank Africa lodges with one simple measure! Our ranking is subjective and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three stars to certain 'five star' lodges in the hotel, or five stars to some superb, unashamed 'three star' hotels that are great value for money.

Kwihala Camp - Ruaha
At Kwihala lodge the staff did everything for our well feeling and the  food was excellent. Our guide Lorenzo was very professional - he knows how to find and show us the game so we saw so many many  lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, buffalos and colourful birds.

Lake Duluti Lodge is one of the more expensive properties in the Arusha area which is ideal for a stay at the start of your safari in the north of Tanzania. Some of the rooms have views onto Lake Duluti itself, there are also small walks in the grounds around the lakes which are well worth enjoying. There are a number of hotels in the area, while Onsea House is one of our favourites due to its good price we find that Lake Duluti is one of our most luxurious options in the area.

Lake Manyara Serena - Lake Manyara
Definitely one of the best Serena Hotels, this hotel is without doubt the best of the large hotels in the Manyara area with good views and easy access to the park around 20 minutes drive away. The views really are the reason to come here. While the rooms are beginning to look a little dated as far as the design is concerned (they have attempted to replicate the colours and curves of the local avian population!), the overall feel of the lodge is that it is not actually as large as it is and a drink at the bar is one of the best places in Tanzania! However, for the same price Kirurumu Tented camp is a preferred option, smaller and give you a break from solid brick structure lodges.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge - Lake Manyara
Of all the &Beyond lodges, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the best kept secret. This is partly due to the fact that anything less than a 2 night stay here is far too short.  The park is also not as well known as it should be; this is one of the best places to see a huge array of birds, both migratory and indigenous, vast numbers of elephant as well as some of the more interesting antelope of Africa, such as klipspringers.  In our view the lodge is actually one of the top 2 or 3 in Tanzania for the levels of service, the wilderness experience (as it is all on its own in the lower regions of the park there are never any other vehicles) and all round luxury.  This is really a special lodge, definitely worth paying a visit to if the budget can stretch!

Your suggestion of Lake Manze was really excellent. We both absolutely loved it and felt that the open nature of the camp really suited the experience. We were hugely comfortable throughout and felt the four days was good value for money. We loved being some close to everything and being totally immersed in the safari experience. I think, if money were no object we could have stayed there for the whole two weeks.

Lazy Lagoon Island - Tanzania Mainland Coast
Lazy Lagoon was perfect for us; as I think we discussed, the laidback "bush chic" style might not suit the spa brigade, but we loved it.  The journey out is of course a bit of an experience.

Lemala Kuria Hills - Serengeti, North
A new and permanent fixture in the north of the Serengeti, Lemala Kuria Hills has filled a gap in the market. Glass-fronted bedrooms with slightly colourful décor are not Africa Odyssey’s style but we acknowledge that for many, especially honeymooners, Kuria Hills might be the perfect lodge. Private plunge pools, good location and great sunsets.

    Lemala Ngorongoro - Ngorongoro Crater
For so long, camping at the Ngorongoro a bit of a nightmare as temperatures can regularly fall below freezing due to the altitude. However, Lemala has gas heaters in every room and has, by far, the most luxurious tented accommodation on the Crater rim. The camp is well located (though do not be fooled, the views are not into the Crater itself as the camp lies on the other side of the rim looking out into the Conservation area as opposed to into the Crater itself) and does have some game in the surrounding area. Overall a quality product and a welcome breath of fresh air; Ngorongoro needed better lodges and now, finally it has one! But it lacks in access and location for rather a lot of money.
