Choosing your accommodation for a dream holiday is by no means an easy feat. Often people are swamped by the multitude of choices on offer, but luckily we are here to help. This page has been designed specifically to help you with your choices. Here we provide you with a comprehensive list of the best camps, lodges and hotels you can visit when booking with us. We highlight the significant differences in accommodation types and what they can offer. Our interactive menu below also allows you to search through each accommodation option, arranged by name, price, location and rating, at your own leisure.

Best Luxury Safari Lodges

With plenty of options to choose from, selecting your safari accommodation isn't easy. Different lodges can offer different experiences depending on what you are after from your holiday. Some lodges will only have small guest occupancy and offer intimate experiences, whereas other camps will cater for larger groups.

Camps can also be mobile meaning that they are not permanent structures and they will relocate depending on the season and where the animals are most likely to be. Due to the accommodation manoeuvring regularly, these camps are normally made up from a number of luxury tents. These tents however, dispel all traditional myths of what may come to mind if you think of camping. Their furnishings are luxurious and all your needs will be met. Their placement is also extra-close to the action and will certainly make you feel more at one with nature. If you have the opportunity to stay in these mobile camps, do it.

Best Beach Hotels

Just like the safari camps, there are many varying options when it comes to accommodation by the beach. Generally the more you pay, the more intimate and luxurious your accommodation will be, however we have options that can cater for all budgets. The beach hotels we offer can either be the base for a perfect romantic getaway or for an ideal adventure and activity filled holiday.

Best Safari Lodges

It is very hard to rank Africa lodges with one simple measure! Our ranking is subjective and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three stars to certain 'five star' lodges in the hotel, or five stars to some superb, unashamed 'three star' hotels that are great value for money.

Kiota Camp - Serengeti, Central
We were met off the plane and had a game drive before we went to Kiota Camp. During our four days stay which you need, lost count of the number of lions we saw including a pride of 13, four tree climbing, an injured male with wire round his neck which had to be sedated with its female, by rangers and vet, and a family with a kill.
The herds of elephant, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and wilderbeast were huge. We also saw five leopards and three cheetahs. One with her cub got down from her rock and walked in front of our vehicle. Best of all our driver Raymond after another early start took us to see the migration.
It was completely unimagineable. Best of all they all got across the river.
Kiota camp was great staff, wonderful food, fantastic game drives.  We could hear lions every night and sometimes in the morning at breakfast. Also zebras and hyenas right outside our tent. What more could you ask for? - D & K Oates

Kirawira Lodge - Serengeti, Western Corridor
As far as tented camps go, Kirawira is slightly larger than most, but it also offers a higher level of opulence than its peers in that large category. Set in the Western corridor region of the Serengeti, all of the tents have spectacular views out over the plains, particularly in June and July when the Migration makes its way past.

Kirurumu Serengeti Camp - Serengeti, North
Kimondo - 4.5 Stars. The bed was quite comfortable and everything went very smoothly with the chemical toilet and the bucket shower. The food was very good, all things considered. It was quite strange though, we were the only ones staying at the camp during that time, and it made for quiet a lonely stay, to be honest. Since there is so much down time in the evenings with nothing to do, it just had a very quiet feel, and there were so many staff people working there and waiting on us that we felt a bit guilty. They did provide wonderful service though, and even lit a campfire every night for us.

    Kirurumu Tarangire - Tarangire
Although the camp is outside the park, it sits next to a flood plain that attracts animals throughout the dry season. It is not uncommon to have animals in and around the camp which is an important asset given the slightly un-remote location, setting it apart from its competitors in similar positions. It’s a ten minute drive down a dirt road off the main, tarmac road that leads from Arusha into Tarangire. Once inside the park this is the busiest area but, because the camp is close to the gate, you can drive a bit further into Tarangire than most of the crowds.

Kirurumu Tented Camp - Lake Manyara
Kirurumu Manyara Lodge is an extremely friendly and comfortable lodge with a fantastic view of the Great Rift Valley of Lake Manyara National Park. The staff are charming and be sure to ask them teach you Swahili – they will love the challenge. The team spirit of the staff seems to shape the refreshing atmosphere of the camp, making Kirurumu Manyara Lodge a desirable and more homely alternative for those of us who do not want to stay in large impersonal hotels.

    Kleins Camp - Serengeti, North

Kleins is one of our favourite Serengeti camps, as it offers a wide range of safari experiences, including night drives and walking safaris, with superb guides.  Fabulously positioned half way up a valley, the camp overlooks the valley floor which fills with the migrating herds when they come back in October and early November.  Even when the migration isn’t around, safaris at Kleins are simply fantastic due to it being a private concession with excellent resident game and walking and night drives options.

Kono Kono - Zanzibar, East Coast
Kono Kono was a very high standard of accommodation.  The Villas are about the same size as our garden flat!   The verandah is very nice although the plunge pool is a bit wasted as there aren’t any sun loungers to lie on.  The beach is very nice – fine white sand, clear blue sea and not tidal so you can swim in it at anytime.  The other major positive is that it is very quiet with no beach hawkers and as the hotel wasn’t full we were the only guests on it one day.  We did walk along the beach and there are a couple hotels being built KK so I’m not sure if that will change the traffic across their beach.  The gardens are also beautiful and it’s very nice to walk about the place.  They were always people working in them so they tend them very well.

Food and Service are the areas they need to improve (as you warned us).  For the most part it is okay and they are really trying to offer 5 star western service but the staff do need more training to give them the confidence to carry out service competently and efficiently.  Breakfast and dinner service was efficient but we did wait 30-40 minutes for our lunch.  I think this is due to the kitchen being at the back of the property away from the beach.  It came down to you wrapped in tin foil but wasn’t that warm when it arrived.    I know you had said they have an extensive wine list but they only ever offered one white and one red at dinner and when we asked for the list they said they didn’t have one.  Breakfast was fruit, pastries and cooked breakfast or pancakes but sadly the latter was not good.   They did have cereal on the menu but I never saw it out and when I asked they only had rice krispies!   We did have it delivered to our villa twice and it was nice to sit on the verandah looking out to sea.  They also bring fresh fruit and afternoon cake and biscuits to the room every day which is a nice touch.  Dinner was a set menu with a cold starter, followed by a strange soup which was always brown and gruel like(!) and then a choice of 2 main courses and then a dessert.  The main courses were varied but the dessert was often a cold mousse/pannacotta chilled style pudding that often didn’t taste of much.
I know I have pointed out several negatives about KK but we really did have a nice stay and it is the place to go if you want to relax and do nothing.

Kungwe Beach Lodge - Mahale Mountains
Kungwe has developed into a reasonably good lodge and is the only alternative to the luxurious Greystoke Mahale; its superior neighbour. It is the value option in Mahale, and in our opinion if you travel the distance to Mahale we feel you should try and pay the extra and stay at the world famous Greystoke with noticeably better guiding, service and quality.

Kusini Tented Camp - Serengeti, North
Kusini is fabulous. It has an excellent location, in the depths of the southern Serengeti, far away from the crowds. It has extremely high standards of service and overall quality. And is, in our view, one of the best places to watch the Migration from whe the herds are in the south of the Serengeti. Prices have been creeping up a little and its nearby competition can offer a similar experience for less money, but it is the remoteness that wins it for Kusini.
