Choosing your accommodation for a dream holiday is by no means an easy feat. Often people are swamped by the multitude of choices on offer, but luckily we are here to help. This page has been designed specifically to help you with your choices. Here we provide you with a comprehensive list of the best camps, lodges and hotels you can visit when booking with us. We highlight the significant differences in accommodation types and what they can offer. Our interactive menu below also allows you to search through each accommodation option, arranged by name, price, location and rating, at your own leisure.
Best Luxury Safari Lodges
With plenty of options to choose from, selecting your safari accommodation isn't easy. Different lodges can offer different experiences depending on what you are after from your holiday. Some lodges will only have small guest occupancy and offer intimate experiences, whereas other camps will cater for larger groups.
Camps can also be mobile meaning that they are not permanent structures and they will relocate depending on the season and where the animals are most likely to be. Due to the accommodation manoeuvring regularly, these camps are normally made up from a number of luxury tents. These tents however, dispel all traditional myths of what may come to mind if you think of camping. Their furnishings are luxurious and all your needs will be met. Their placement is also extra-close to the action and will certainly make you feel more at one with nature. If you have the opportunity to stay in these mobile camps, do it.
Best Beach Hotels
Just like the safari camps, there are many varying options when it comes to accommodation by the beach. Generally the more you pay, the more intimate and luxurious your accommodation will be, however we have options that can cater for all budgets. The beach hotels we offer can either be the base for a perfect romantic getaway or for an ideal adventure and activity filled holiday.
Best Safari Lodges
It is very hard to rank Africa lodges with one simple measure! Our ranking is subjective and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three stars to certain 'five star' lodges in the hotel, or five stars to some superb, unashamed 'three star' hotels that are great value for money.

Tarangire Treetops - Tarangire
Tarangire Treetops is a stunning and quirky property set just to the East of the Tarangire National Park. Owned and operated by the Elewana Company, the lodge is the sister to Migration Camp in the Serengeti and The Manor in Ngorongoro- and equally as luxurious. Tarangire Tree Tops has access to night drives as it just outside the park. A very unique Lodge!
Cost: $708
Tembo Hotel - Stone Town, Zanzibar
This hotel has let us down in the past and for that reason we do not like to recommend the place. Some rooms are very good but the reality is that the service standards are not anywhere near the quality of its competitors. More importantly however, it is a dry hotel which for those of us who like that sundowner is nothing short of a nightmare!
Cost: $110
The Highlands - Ngorongoro Crater
The Highlands redefines the Ngorongoro experience. Set on the edge of the mountain forest hugging the Olmoti volcano to the north of Ngorongoro Crater, The Highlands strikes a perfect balance between a true wilderness experience and a high-style, contemporary escape.
Cost: $850
The Manor - Ngorongoro Highlands
The Manor is an extremely luxurious hotel where you are constantly being looked after at the highest level…and you make the rules. The staff have a genuine passion for hospitality making your whole stay most relaxing, the vehicles are of top quality accompanied by tremendously enthusiastic and professional guides. Of course not being at the crater rim is an issue, but the stunning views over the highlands are unique and most of all, there's no one else around!
Cost: $945
The Manta Resort - Pemba
The Manta offers great value for money if you are looking to stay in this very remote area of the island of Pemba and if you are keen to experience some of the best diving off the coast of Tanzania. The lodge is in a great location looking out of the north west of the island and we really like the beach however the lodge is slightly rough around the edges in some areas but at this price and on all inclusive basis this is good option which we will keep an eye on.
Cost: $290
The Palms - Zanzibar, East Coast
When we got to The Palms in Zanzibar later, we soon realised it was the best place we had ever stayed! The Palms was certainly the most luxurious place of all and the degree of the personal service we received was just so outstanding. We didn't want to leave there.

The Residence Zanzibar - Zanzibar, South Coast
Very NEW and nice. had nice perks for honeymooners. lacked character although didn't impact the experience. one thing to note was the all inclusive package did NOT include anything from room service or the mini bar, we found this to be very misleading. however the food was great once down in the dining room. didn't offer much entertainment, the website said kite surfing and scuba diving but neither were available. was a good follow on from the honeymoon however got a little boring...would have preferred to have done another day on mnemba. - A Stratton

The Tides - Tanzania Mainland Coast
We thoroughly enjoyed Tides . We had the Upepo suite so that we could more directly compare with a suite at Ras Katani. All Tides properties face east , so you experience wonderful sunrises . The thatched sunshades provided all day shade , and had comfortable sun beds .I love the warmth ,but cannot be in the sun for too long.. So I rate Tides very highly indeed .The standard bungalows are directly on the beach .We looked inside one of these , and they are very nice. .... so nice I am not sure we would go for the Upepo suite another time. Tides is certainly very peaceful and quiet and enjoys a lovely beach location. It is very very good .Is it as good as Ras Katani ? That is a difficult question to answer . I would say the beach bungalows are better ,the suite does have shade outdoors which you do not have at Ras Katani, albeit in a separate enclosed outside area , but there is no plunge pool.Ras Katani is special , but so too is Tides in a different way . Tides should come highly recommended to your clients. - T Platt

The Z Hotel - Zanzibar, North Coast
Great beach, one of the best on the whole island. However Nungwi is the busiest area (by far) of anywhere on Zanzibar and the Z Hotel is right in the thick of it all. In a nutshell, the hotel has impressive standards but caters for young party loving professionals – it tries to be a smart hotel in a busy, lively area – certainly not for a relaxed honeymoon couple trying to escape the crowds, but if you are looking for a taste of nightlife towards then end of your trip then why not give it a go.

Ubuntu Tented Camp - Serengeti, Central
Our trip began in North Serengeti at Ubuntu, which was absolutely magnificent, both the area and the camp itself. There were only 3 guests in total at the camp for our stay, so the service was outstanding. Our guide, Venant, was excellent - even finding a Rhino mother and calf for us. The North Serengeti is very quiet and so different from the crowded central area we have visited before.
