Choosing your accommodation for a dream holiday is by no means an easy feat. Often people are swamped by the multitude of choices on offer, but luckily we are here to help. This page has been designed specifically to help you with your choices. Here we provide you with a comprehensive list of the best camps, lodges and hotels you can visit when booking with us. We highlight the significant differences in accommodation types and what they can offer. Our interactive menu below also allows you to search through each accommodation option, arranged by name, price, location and rating, at your own leisure.
Best Luxury Safari Lodges
With plenty of options to choose from, selecting your safari accommodation isn't easy. Different lodges can offer different experiences depending on what you are after from your holiday. Some lodges will only have small guest occupancy and offer intimate experiences, whereas other camps will cater for larger groups.
Camps can also be mobile meaning that they are not permanent structures and they will relocate depending on the season and where the animals are most likely to be. Due to the accommodation manoeuvring regularly, these camps are normally made up from a number of luxury tents. These tents however, dispel all traditional myths of what may come to mind if you think of camping. Their furnishings are luxurious and all your needs will be met. Their placement is also extra-close to the action and will certainly make you feel more at one with nature. If you have the opportunity to stay in these mobile camps, do it.
Best Beach Hotels
Just like the safari camps, there are many varying options when it comes to accommodation by the beach. Generally the more you pay, the more intimate and luxurious your accommodation will be, however we have options that can cater for all budgets. The beach hotels we offer can either be the base for a perfect romantic getaway or for an ideal adventure and activity filled holiday.
Best Safari Lodges
It is very hard to rank Africa lodges with one simple measure! Our ranking is subjective and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three stars to certain 'five star' lodges in the hotel, or five stars to some superb, unashamed 'three star' hotels that are great value for money.

Blue Bay - Zanzibar, East Coast
It is one of the best resort accommodations on Zanzibar. In the same league as Breezes, the hotel has a charming atmosphere, set away from that of a large resort. The rooms are great and there is a real vibrant atmosphere. Like Breezes it is very good for families and groups, but given that they are both very similarly priced, we much prefer Breezes due to it being much smaller, yet it offers a similar product.
Cost: $180
Breezes Beach Club - Zanzibar, East Coast
An elegant choice for luxurious beach accommodation on Zanzibar’s East Coast with all mod-cons and entertainment a plenty - this is the best value of the larger hotels on the island. Breezes does cater for the mainstream market but is the best at doing this on Zanzibar. It is perfect for families and ticks all the boxes, but for couples wanting a smaller hotel with all the perks of a large hotel we prefer Ras Nungwi.
Cost: $195
Chada Camp - Katavi
Katavi-- we enjoyed to remoteness of Katavi and were very lucky to have 5 delightful companions here and we all went to Mahlale together. Mussa, our eagle eyed guide, was fantastic and had a great sense of what the animals would do next. It is not easy game viewing in Katavi but Mussa and Samuel, the guide for the other vehicle, made our game viewing memorable. We spent an hour with a fabulous young male leopard one evening and only the 7 of us were around to witness this marvelous sighting. The leopard put on quite a show for us climbing down one tree to pursue a hare (he missed), then posing on a log before heading up another tree. Elephants, crocks, hippos are ubiquitous at Kavati and we had lots of mock elephant charges. We saw 2 separate lionesses with cubs - one with 2 cubs less than a month old and the other with 3 cubs about 2 months old. - Mr Trice

Chaka Camp - Serengeti, Central
Chaka Camp is a beautiful canvas tented camp situated in the world famous Serengeti. It offers a true bush expereince in the centre of one of the most densely populated game areas on the planet .
Cost: $660
Chem Chem Lodge - Tarangire
Chem Chem is a very high end lodge in the migratory corridor between Lake Manyara and Tarangire. We would not recommend it to those wanting a game rich experience but if you have a few days spare, this is a beautiful place to spend them.
Cost: $931
Chole Mjini - Mafia Island
The main drawback of Chole Mjini is its lack of beach – it’s more like a creek but then again, Mafia is not so much about great beaches. Again, we bang on about the pool. Tanzanian heat is just too strong to not have one and as at some points of the day you cannot swim because of the tides, a pool is essential. However, the accommodation is fantastic, with lovely rustic rooms set up on stilts in the trees. It is also now under new management which will give the place a new lease of life.
Cost: $210
Chumbe Island - Zanzibar Islands
Just off Zanzibar itself is the first marine sanctuary in Zanzibar and a colourful little island surrounded by a shallow reef alive with 90% of all coral species ever recorded in East Africa, estimated around two hundred species. The fronds and shadows of this wide coral garden are home to over 350 species of fish, sea turtles and lobster, and the small coral rag island rises up at the centre with a host of other living creatures in its protective embrace.

Dunia Camp - Serengeti, Central
We were very luck that we were able to see the great migration. All the plans were done with this intention, but I was a little bit afraid that something could happen and animals were not there. But they were!!!! It was absolutely spectacular!!! And now words to describe how wonderful the Dunia Camp team is. I´m in love of them!!! The hotel is comfortable, everything works perfectly and the service is more than perfect! It couldn´t be better! I hope I can have another opportunity to come back to Seremgeti. - Borner, Brazil

Echo Beach - Zanzibar, East Coast
Echo Beach we had a great time here, and it was really relaxing. Our lodge was very nice, and the food throughout was excellent. The staff were all really friendly although some of them were quite new and their English wasn't too good. One example of this was that a cocktail of the day was advertised at the bar but when we ordered it the barman didn't know how to make it so gave us something completely different! However whenever there was an issue the owners and management were more than willing to help resolve it. - J Savage
