Choosing your accommodation for a dream holiday is by no means an easy feat. Often people are swamped by the multitude of choices on offer, but luckily we are here to help. This page has been designed specifically to help you with your choices. Here we provide you with a comprehensive list of the best camps, lodges and hotels you can visit when booking with us. We highlight the significant differences in accommodation types and what they can offer. Our interactive menu below also allows you to search through each accommodation option, arranged by name, price, location and rating, at your own leisure.

Best Luxury Safari Lodges

With plenty of options to choose from, selecting your safari accommodation isn't easy. Different lodges can offer different experiences depending on what you are after from your holiday. Some lodges will only have small guest occupancy and offer intimate experiences, whereas other camps will cater for larger groups.

Camps can also be mobile meaning that they are not permanent structures and they will relocate depending on the season and where the animals are most likely to be. Due to the accommodation manoeuvring regularly, these camps are normally made up from a number of luxury tents. These tents however, dispel all traditional myths of what may come to mind if you think of camping. Their furnishings are luxurious and all your needs will be met. Their placement is also extra-close to the action and will certainly make you feel more at one with nature. If you have the opportunity to stay in these mobile camps, do it.

Best Beach Hotels

Just like the safari camps, there are many varying options when it comes to accommodation by the beach. Generally the more you pay, the more intimate and luxurious your accommodation will be, however we have options that can cater for all budgets. The beach hotels we offer can either be the base for a perfect romantic getaway or for an ideal adventure and activity filled holiday.

Best Safari Lodges

It is very hard to rank Africa lodges with one simple measure! Our ranking is subjective and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three stars to certain 'five star' lodges in the hotel, or five stars to some superb, unashamed 'three star' hotels that are great value for money.

Mdonya river camp is superb value for money .Our love for wildlife was recognised from the outset , and we enjoyed a vehicle to ourselves for the 4 nights we were there. The food was great although to be fair we did not always know exactly what we were eating ,and the camp ambience fantastic.

    Migration Camp - Serengeti, North
Migration Camp was our favourite - a bit off the beaten tourist trap so not so many vehicles around.  Game was a little harder to find as landscape is not so open but it was a good contrast with the central Serengeti area and we did see thousands of grazing migration animals in the north and along the Western Corridor.

    Mivumo - Selous
We absolutely loved Mivumo. It was amazing to be able to step out onto our balcony to look over the river and hear the hippos in the water. Have never been anywhere more peaceful. The food was great and the staff were so friendly. It was our first safari, so didn’t have anything to compare it to, but we saw so many animals and loved every second of it.

Mnemba Island lodge - Zanzibar Islands
I guess this has to be the perfect ending, the pictures pretty much sum it up as a lost Maldivian Island and that's exactly as it is. A luxurious stay with everything you'd expect from a 5 star experience. Friendly staff intent on making the feel of a private Island as private as you want it to be. Superb diving and private dining.

With quite a range of lodges and small hotels to choose from these days in and around Arusha, this lodge stands out as being a good choice. With good service and clean, airy rooms the lodge is well managed. It has a good sized pool for those who may have come off Kilimanjaro, otherwise ideal for a quick dip in the afternoon after arriving from anywhere else. A good option for those looking for a quiet and charming stoop over point on their way through. Excellent for families, but if you are looking for small intimate place, look elsewhere.

    Mwiba Lodge - Serengeti, South
Mwiba Lodge is a Singita-level permanent lodge in a private reserve to the south of the Serengeti. The views are beautiful and the design is immaculate. It only opened in 2014 but it already competes with the best of the best.

    Namiri Plains - Serengeti, Central
5 stars (or 10 stars if I could!). It was wonderful!! We saw lots of cheetahs and even a mom with three small cubs playing with each other very close  in additions to 3-week old lion cubs hiding in the bush very close (I think our guide actually went off road to give us better view many times. I hope he did not get in trouble for that...). On top of that, during all those sightings, we were the only car! So it was really secluded which exactly we came there for. Even though the camp was full, they put only two couples in one car so even though we had to share the car with another couple, it was not bad at all. I liked this camp best. All of the staffs who we interacted with were very nice and professional. Our guide was really good. Attention to details were great as well (e.g., a hot water bottle for a cold morning drive etc.,). A dance performance that staffs gave on one of our dinners was really great. The food was good, the tent was simple but comfortable. The safari cars looked new and all of them were very comfortable. Overall, I felt the entire staff/manager were very well trained and really enjoy what they do, which resulted in great services and memorable stay. If we were to come back to Tanzania, we will most likely use Asilia camps for all of our stays next time.

    Ndutu - Serengeti, South
Ndutu lodge has everything you need without being over the top.  The lodge is in one of the more secluded areas just outside the Serengeti, in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.  We like Ndutu –  it is the only permanent camp in the region (apart from Kusini) and gets the migration from December through to March.  The atmosphere in camp is unpretentious and relaxed, yet frightfully efficient….however, the camp doesn't have its own vehicles and so it's all "drive in" safaris.  This makes it very popular with the bigger companies in Arusha and it gets booked up very far in advance.
