Fugitives Drift Hotel

Set in a Natural Heritage Site, Fugitives’ Drift overlooks the historical battlefields of both Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift.  With daily tours out to the battlefields area anyone interested in the history of the 19th Century will love this place; it will give you a unique insight into the extraordinary battles fought out between the British Empire, Boers and Zulus.

There are a number of different accommodation options at Rorke’s drift, including a completely private self-catering unit set away from the main lodge itself.
From Fugitives’ Drift, other than the extraordinary battlefield tours where 11 Victoria Crosses were awarded. There is also the option to go mountain biking and go on a number of small game nature walks.

The famous Rorke’s wagon drift is within the grounds as well with the poignant memorial at Fugitive’s Drift is a mere 15 minute float downstream - a hugely iconic location making for a really memorable and informative trip.

All of the staff come from the local communities and have wonderful knowledge of the local area which makes a stay here all the more unique and interesting. The actual camp is really comfortable and acts as a great base to explore the area from. However, the accommodation is not really what it is all about here.
