The Taj is in the Gardens area of down town Cape Town, away from the popular and vibrant Water front area. Overall the Taj is a good choice for a city centre accommodation though it is also worth looking at the longer established and more historical Mount Nelson Hotel. It depends what you are after though, as it is in a great location and offers a perfectly comfortable stay.
The modern Taj Cape Town is set in the heart of down town Cape Town in the quiet Gardens area, offering guests a combination of Indian hospitality and an authentic South African Cape Town experience. The 166-room Taj Cape Town offers a selection of 11 room types. All of the rooms have a mini-bar, safe, high-speed wireless internet and a television if you are tired of exploring the fabulous Cape Town that is... which we doubt you will be!
The hotel has the well-respected grille restaurant, an Indian fine-dining, a seafood restaurant and a lively champagne bar, popular with the local Cape Town set.
The Jiva Spa delivers a range of modern signature treatments, yoga and meditation, as well as Ayuvedic consultations. The fitness centre has a fully equipped gym, heated indoor pool, and two modern saunas.
It makes for a good place to base yourself for a Cape Town adventure, but is by no means the best you can get, or the most unique and stand out.
