Set in amongst the rolling hills of the Franschhoek Valley, the Leeu Estate is a serene utopia surrounded by manicured gardens and life-sized bronze statues and where rest and relaxation is the key to your stay here. The vineyards produce some of the finest wine in South Africa and complimentary wine tasting in their boutique wine studio. Guided tours around the herb garden are also possible and access to the reading room is the perfect place to spend some quiet time.
The rooms at Leeu Estate are spacious, modern and delicately furnished. With king sized beds, a writing desk area and a sitting area you can be sure to take in the beautiful surroundings of the gardens and vineyards without having to leave your room. Access to the gym, spa and pool are all very easy as well making a few days here, the ultimate way to relax.
Leeu House - The Details
For location and value for money, Leeu House is hard to beat. Ideally situated on Franschhoek's High Street, Leeu House gives you the best access to some of the finest restaurants in South Africa. With beautiful cuisine across the road, time spent here will certainly be about filling your belly! With a complimentary winetasting at the Estate's boutique wine studio, you can be sure of a fabulous experience here. The one drawback would be that Leeu House doesn't have stunning natural scenery surrounding it nor does it have a gym or spa. It is best used as somewhere to spend a couple of hours a day, and no more.
The rooms at Leeu House are stylish spacious and have a contemporary take on Franschhoek's traditional Cape Dutch heritage. With only twelve rooms at the property, you can be sure of a private and intimate stay here.
Le Quartier Francais - The Details
With thirty-two rooms, Le Quartier Francais is slightly bigger than Leeu House, yet still maintains a quaint style. Situated next door to Leeu House, the location is ideal for exploring Franschhoek village by foot or for taking day trips into the surrounding winelands. Just like the other two Leeu properties, complimentary wine tasting at the Estate's boutique wine studio is provided for every guest staying and is certainly not an experience to miss.
Mirroring the other Leeu properties, the rooms at Le Quartier Francais are spacious, luxurious and there is exceptional attention to detail. The villas are ideal for families or large groups of friends, as are the communal pool and gym.
For dining experiences in Franschhoek, Le Petite Colombe is one of South Africa's best restaurant and is located in Le Quartier Francais and is complemented by a more casual dining experience at Protege. Both restaurants offer excellent service and culinary delights that blend traditional South African ingredient with French flavours. These restaurants are highly popular, so booking is essential.
