Our View

Tucked away in the beautiful countryside surrounding Kibale Forest, Kyaninga is one of Uganda's best lodges. Just a scenic one hour drive to Kibale Forest for a chimp trek, but there is a lot more to it than that. Numerous beautiful walks nad hikes can be done straight from the lodge and it overlooks a stunning Crater Lake perfect for a swim, a kayak or a paddle board. Focused as much on the local community as they are on providing an exceptional stay in Uganda, Kyaninga is a gem.

The setting of the lodge is truly breathtaking. Within the walls, find a welcoming atmosphere, open fires and spacious rooms for you to unwind in after a day exploring the great outdoors.

Kyaninga Lodge - The Details

The lodge is comprised of 9 cottages which are all raised on platforms, and as such, offer a really private exprience. The rooms also have a private deck where you can enjoy the stunning views over the lake and the Rwenzori Mountains.

The main dining area is nice, and the real plus here is that during your downtime you can take a wander to the outside deck and relax by the pool. The food is very good, with a three course menu and a fusion of European cuisine and locally sourced ingredients. The surrounding grounds are an excellent introduction to your Uganda adventure - take a guided tour around the Kyaninga Crater and spot many different species of primates. If you want activities in the comfort of the lodge, then the tennis court is a fantastic place to blow off some steam.

All in all, we love this lodge! It is one of the best in the country and would be a fantastic addition to any Uganda round trip.
