Mount Nelson: The DetailThe Mount Nelson Hotel is located at the base of Table Mountain, offering easy access to the city, beaches, National Botanical Gardens at Kirstenbosch and the Table Mountain cableway. Mount Nelson Hotel has 201 guest rooms, each with views of Table Mountain or the landscaped gardens. There is a range of sports and leisure amenities, including two heated swimming pools, floodlit tennis courts and a gym. There is also a health clinic and hairdressing salon. The Planet Restaurant serves modern South African cuisine. The Mediterranean-style Oasis Restaurant overlooks the gardens and swimming pool. Traditional afternoon tea is served in the lounge, out on the terrace or in the gardens. A daily shuttle service is also available to take guests to Table Mountain and Camps Bay. Located in the heart of Cape Town’s fabulous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront the new One & Only is a contemporary hotel with one of the best locations in the main tourist hotspots of the city. Too contemporary and ‘business like’ for many of us in the office, the One & Only splits opinion. Great location but most rooms have poor views. Ultimately not a hotel to remember, make the One & Only one of our least favourite Cape Town hotels.

The Cape Grace takes pride of place in Cape Town; this hotel has the location of all locations! 5 star luxury, beautiful views over the harbour and Tabel Mountain make the Grace one of the finest hotels in South Africa and arguably the very best hotel in Cape Town. A location to beat all others and an incredibly efficiently run hotel…..seriously good!

Ellerman House is one of Cape Town’s most famous hotels. Very different to the likes of the Grace and Mount Nelson, Ellerman House is a small boutique property which invites guests who are looking for a quieter and ultimately more personalised Cape Town stay. With a range of different rooms running at varying prices, you have to be a little careful what you book here, but the service levels are exceptionally high throughout. An absolutely cracking property.
