A GUIDE TO CHOOSING YOUR AFRICA HOLIDAY ITINERARIES
All of our Tanzania-safari itineraries are tailor made for each individual client, according to their budget, requirements and preferences. We don't sell pre-packaged trips of any kind. However, in order to show you how some of the different elements can fit together, and some of the kinds of trips that previous clients have taken, we set out here a few example itineraries. These are for illustration purposes only and should not be read restrictively. Your trip can include elements of any combination of any of these itineraries - the only limitations are your budget and your timeframe!
Please select the style of trip you are after. If you aren't sure what they all mean, here's a little guide;

Botswana Adventure 1
From $7,124 per person (inc. internal flights)
10 night safari in the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls
ITINERARY-
A very airy and tropical feel to the camp makes for a jumpy and bright atmosphere, predominantly aided by the sheer brilliant design of the open main area. With everything on your doorstep and only 15 minutes from its private airstrip, Pom Pom is an effortless, comfortable camp with everything on offer.
-
Gunns Camp is part of the Under One Botswana Sly camp collection, an extremely well regarded safari operator with years of experience. With only 6 rooms, fantastic game, an excellent location and superb value for money, it’s a great camp to include in an Under One Botswana Sky circuit.
-
An old favourite of ours…and such a great value lodge. Muchenje has the best views of any Chobe Lodge and we love the fact that it is a privately-owned lodge located away from the crowds that Chobe National Park has become unfortunately so famous for.
-
The Victoria Falls Hotel sits in an excellent spot with magnificent views. Although it feels as though it has lost its charm and now a faded copy of the once grand, colonial establishment. Great for convenience to the falls and activities; Still one of the best places to stay in Vic Falls town.

Botswana Adventure 2
From $7,357 per person (inc. internal flights)
11 night safari in the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls
ITINERARY-
Meno a Kwena is a small and intimate lodge that has long been home of the famous David Dugmore! Consisting of 8 simple, yet effective tents the lodge is located on the traditionally dry Boteti River.
-
This is a new style of camp to the delta. It has 16 rooms, not the usual 9 rooms, but what a great value accommodation to experience, at its best, what the delta is famous for: its waterways.
-

Kenya Adventure 1
From $3,717 per person (inc. internal flights)
6 night safari starting in Nairobi and Maasai Mara National Reserve
ITINERARY-
Lewa Wilderness is probably our pick of the lodges in the Lewa Conservancy as it combines a whole spread of both activities and privacy. Each of the cottages is very spacious and gives you the feeling of total privacy while not feeling cut off from the lodge itself. As an actual home, the communal areas feel welcoming and comfortable with the swimming pool area and bar being particular favourites!
-
Set to the north of the Masai Mara National Park, Elephant Pepper benefits from being away from the crowded Western region of the park.

Kenya Adventure 2
From $3,923 per person (inc. internal flights)
6 nights away starting with 3 nights in the Maasai Mara National Reserve and finishing with 3 nights at Diani Beach
ITINERARY-
The most significant feature of Elsa’s, apart from the views that stretch for years and the perfect tranquility, is the staff and their attitude in the camp. The camp makes a point of growing most of its own produce and so boasts a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables with which to cook.
-
Cottars is set down to the South East of the Mara away from the crowds of the more popular western Mara region. On the whole the guiding is good from the camp and the experience of riding through the bush in a replica 20s car is novel. The region has good resident prides and, due to its secluded location, has an intimate safari feel.

Namibia Adventure 1
From $4,632 per person (inc. internal flights)
5 nights safari in the dunes of Sossusvlei and mountainous region of Damaraland
ITINERARY-
Kulala Desert Lodge is the most economical option of the Wilderness Safaris properties in the Sossusvlei area. With 14 rooms and great views over the dunes, the lodge is larger than the other options Wilderness have in Sossusvlei but the value on offer is undeniable considering the overall quality of Wilderness safaris operations.
-
Doro Nawas Camp is located in the heart of Damaraland, approximately an hours drive from Damaraland Camp itself. The lodge is much larger than any of the other lodges in the area and subsequently loses that sense of authenticity that we believe this area deserves.

Namibia Adventure 2
From $6,808 per person (inc. internal flights)
11 nights fly and drive safari in the Sesriem desert, Swakopmund beach, Damaraland, Etosha and Okonjima Nature Reserve
ITINERARY-
Kulala Desert Lodge is the most economical option of the Wilderness Safaris properties in the Sossusvlei area. With 14 rooms and great views over the dunes, the lodge is larger than the other options Wilderness have in Sossusvlei but the value on offer is undeniable considering the overall quality of Wilderness safaris operations.
-
Ongava Game lodge is the largest of Wilderness Safaris lodges in Etosha and ultimately are least favourite. As much as we appreciate the quality of the operational side of this lodge we don’t see the point of spending the same amount here as at Ongava Tented Lodge but getting what we believe is a far less quality experience.

Uganda / Rwanda Adventure 1
From $3,961 per person (inc. internal flights)
3 nights safari, in and out Uganda Gorilla itinerary
ITINERARY-
A good, clean and comfortable value option from which to explore Kigali or to use for a quick overnight stop before or after visiting the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park.
-
Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is the value acommodation for viewing gorillas. Set just a 10 minute drive from the Park gate the location is unbeatable, with beautiful views into the Park across the seemingly neverending mountain jungle landscape. Permits and logistics are not cheap when gorilla trekking in Rwanda and accommodation is where you can save. Frankly, it's all about the gorilla experience, Mountain View is no luxurious, but provides a great base for one of the greatest experiences in Africa.

S Africa Adventure 1
From $2,704 per person (inc. internal flights)
8 nights away, 4 nights safari at Timbavati Nature Reserve and 4 nights in Cape Town
ITINERARY-

-
Rocktail Bay is a beautiful rugged beach reserve run by the luxury operator Wilderness Safaris. Located on a wild stretch of coast North of Durban, Rocktail Bay is not your classic beach destination but a truly wild coastline with miles of deserted beach, serious diving and a huge area of wilderness to explore inland.

S Africa Adventure 2
From $6,385 per person (inc. internal flights)
8 nights away, 4 nights safari at Madikwe Game Reserve and 4 nights in Cape Town
ITINERARY-
&Beyond’s Kirkmans Kamp is located in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve to the West of the Kruger National Park. This area of South Africa is well respected as being one of the best game viewing areas on the planet and with &beyond being one of the most luxurious operators in Africa, you can guarantee a seriously good game viewing experience. Not as luxurious as the nearby Londolozi, what really sets these lodges apart from their competition however is their price and quality of guiding. Superb value for money considering the level of accommodation on offer.
-
Belle Mare Plage is a big hotel, with just over 200 rooms, but with a huge footprint along a seriously stunning expanse of beach, you are guarenteed private moments and enjoy extremely good service.

Tanzania Adventure 1
From $2,588 per person (inc. internal flights)
Stunning value while still hitting great game areas, this combination is a great entry level and first time safari and beach trip.

-

Zambia Adventure 1
From $6,760 per person (inc. internal flights)
10 nights safari in South Luangwa National Park and Victoria Falls
ITINERARY-
Flatdogs is the closest camp outside the main gate of the South Luangwa National Park, one of the finest safari destinations in Africa. The camp is fairly large, but nicely spread out so there is no feeling of over crowding and you will be really well looked after.
-
Run by Remote Africa as part of the infamous Chikoko Walking Trails, Chikoko is a camp that truly fits in with its surroundings; this is a stunning and exclusive no frills bush camp.
-
Given its location, Waterberry is perfect for boating safaris along the Zambezi. A sundowners cruise, fishing trip and mekoro ride here makes the Zambezi one of the best big river experiences in Africa.

Zambia Adventure 2
From $5,549 per person (inc. internal flights)
8 nights safari in the South Luangwa National Park
ITINERARY-
We're a bit undecided about Mfuwe Lodge - it is inside the main gate which is a huge bonus and means the wonders of the park are right on the doorstep. However, it also mean the entrance road is also on the doorstep to one stretch of the chalets.
-
Kasaka is hands down the best value lodge in the Lower Zambezi. It is further away from the National Park and perhaps not the most aesthetic camp around, but the rest of this area is seriously pricey and Kasaka opens up this stunning part of Zambia to those on a slightly lower budget who are after a top knotch experience.

Zimbabwe Adventure 1
From $3,543 per person (inc. internal flights)
6 nights safari at Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park
ITINERARY-
The Victoria Falls Hotel sits in an excellent spot with magnificent views. Although it feels as though it has lost its charm and now a faded copy of the once grand, colonial establishment. Great for convenience to the falls and activities; Still one of the best places to stay in Vic Falls town.
-
This camp is rather rustic and lacks many of the mod cons. The water hole is a hive of game activity which most of the tents overlook. There are few camps that you can watch such an abundance of game right from your tent veranda.

Zimbabwe Adventure 2
From $3,943 per person (inc. internal flights)
6 nights safari at Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park
ITINERARY-

-
The highlights here are the large open plains and the fantastic views of the nearby watering hole. This lodge has a unique feel and Wilderness has done well with the up keep of the camp. The country's economic and political difficulties seem to be a distant reality while at Makalolo.
