Molori Madikwe is an exclusive South African paradise. For those who want a truly intimate safari experience - and to be in a good value and malaria-free safari park, you can’t get much more luxurious than this. While it is expensive for the Madikwe Game Reserve, it’s not when compared to similarly decked out lodges in neighboring countries.

Molori Safari Lodge - The Details

With just five open-air suites, Molori offers a personalised safari experience but with all the luxuries of a five star hotel, which is why we love it. For those who like the finer things in life - delicious cuisine, soft sofas, pools and massages - it has them all. Being a smaller operation, Molori doesn’t lose the safari magic in all the fuss: it’s still a hideout for those obsessed with wilderness as much as relaxation.

Each room - with floor to ceiling retractable glass walls, private decks and swimming pools - has glorious views of the Dwarsberg Mountains and Madikwe Valley. Room types on offer are premiere suites, a family option and a presidential pad.

The main lodge is made up of four dining areas: a library, large living room and bar. The shaded relaxation area opens up into an outdoor deck equipped with a hot spa bath and two infinity pools. There’s a mountainside chilled spa bath too, with incredible wildlife viewing so you can soak and safari at the same time. The gourmet chefs mean every meal is delicious, even when in such a remote location.

Outside the enviable confides of the lodge, the game-viewing is great with unique draws including the highest concentration of rhino in Africa, and the opportunity to help tag and protect them. Wild dog tracking is an exciting possibility in Madikwe. On top of game drives, walking safaris are also available.

For those who want that bit of extra ease, there is also the option to get a private charter flight - and even a helicopter - from Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
