THE HERITAGE
Mauritius, South coast
The Heritage: Our ViewA great mid-range hotel on the south coast of the island. designed around an African village with a thatched theme this is a good hotel. However the beach is poor and it is sandwiched between quite a few new hotels on the South Coast. It has a great spa which used to be free and this was a big draw card. The rooms are huge and well designed 3 palms - we used to rate this hotel very highly, however new devlopments combined with a price increase have encouraged us to downgrade our view The Heritage: Fast Facts$240 per person per night (high season)
The Heritage: The DetailThis asks a very reasonable price for its elegant tropical respite on the south coast of Mauritius. The Heritage provides a choice of three excellent restaurants as an alternative to the main and with three distinct swimming pool areas, an excellent spa surrounded by beautiful gardens and a huge range of watersports along its good sandy beach. It is hard to find reason to leave the hotel, although golfing, mountain biking, sea and land excursions are all popular. Boredom or complacency are not an option! All facilities aside, it is the staff attitude and service that make the Heritage a fine choice; staff are impressively friendly and willing to assist beyond their remit; bar staff have been witnessed diving in after too-small children in the bar-side pool and all staff make an effort to introduce themselves, remember names, and greet families and children as friends. Keen attention to detail throughout all aspects of daily presentation and service make this a recommended option. Full-board clients enjoy a daily spa treatment and huge range of watersports within the price, and the benefit of a good room service menu at any time of day. Despite its size, accommodation is arranged in small blocks each with different aspects and outlooks, allowing a sense of privacy and containment. You may also likeMauritius, East Coast
The jewel in hotel Constance's crown, Prince Maurice is one of the smaller of the hotels on the island. Superb rooms with either a beach or lagoon view and a lovely huge pool. One drawback is that the beach is not as good as others on the East Coast.
Mauritius, North Coast
The newly opened Oberoi is an amazing hotel. The seperate suite rooms are staggering, especially those with private pools. Huge grounds, and the rooms and areas have a wonderfully oriental feel. The beach is lovely despite being too small.
Mauritius, West Coast
This is a great option for all those seeking peace and tranquillity; but also offers more for anyone wanting external restaurants and golfing opportunities as a result of their tie-up with the neighbouring Paradis Hotel & Golf Club, who allow Dinarobin guests access to all facilities, including their 18-hole international golf course, and 4 restaurants.
