It is truly incredible to ride alongside wildlife on a horseriding safari. The country with the best choice for serious horseriding safaris is Botswana, but there are options for superb wildlife experiences on horseback in Tanzania and Kenya as well.

For serious riding, we would advise you towards some professional riding options in Botswana, in which you can do as full a safari as you could hope for, while riding out each day. There are excellent horse-riding safaris from Sasakwa in a private reserve alongside Western Serengeti, and other good options for riding in private concessions in Kenya.

Riding in Botswana is a real joy, and there are a range of very professional and highly-recommended operators here. Fantastic horses, great guides with long experience of all riders and interests; all in superb landscapes to elevate the soul!

There are limited options for really good riding safaris in Tanzania, but they are there. The finest wildlife, horses and landscapes in the western Serengeti are enjoyed on a daily ride out, only for experienced riders. This is a good choice where riders and non-riders are travelling together.

The regeneration of large, private reserves in Kenya has created some fantastic riding opportunities. Novices and those with non-riding friends may ride out from the lodge each day, otherwise enjoy great options for longer riding safaris over days.
