Choosing your accommodation for a dream holiday is by no means an easy feat. Often people are swamped by the multitude of choices on offer, but luckily we are here to help. This page has been designed specifically to help you with your choices. Here we provide you with a comprehensive list of the best camps, lodges and hotels you can visit when booking with us. We highlight the significant differences in accommodation types and what they can offer. Our interactive menu below also allows you to search through each accommodation option, arranged by name, price, location and rating, at your own leisure.
Best Luxury Safari Lodges
With plenty of options to choose from, selecting your safari accommodation isn't easy. Different lodges can offer different experiences depending on what you are after from your holiday. Some lodges will only have small guest occupancy and offer intimate experiences, whereas other camps will cater for larger groups.
Camps can also be mobile meaning that they are not permanent structures and they will relocate depending on the season and where the animals are most likely to be. Due to the accommodation manoeuvring regularly, these camps are normally made up from a number of luxury tents. These tents however, dispel all traditional myths of what may come to mind if you think of camping. Their furnishings are luxurious and all your needs will be met. Their placement is also extra-close to the action and will certainly make you feel more at one with nature. If you have the opportunity to stay in these mobile camps, do it.
Best Beach Hotels
Just like the safari camps, there are many varying options when it comes to accommodation by the beach. Generally the more you pay, the more intimate and luxurious your accommodation will be, however we have options that can cater for all budgets. The beach hotels we offer can either be the base for a perfect romantic getaway or for an ideal adventure and activity filled holiday.
Best Safari Lodges
It is very hard to rank Africa lodges with one simple measure! Our ranking is subjective and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three stars to certain 'five star' lodges in the hotel, or five stars to some superb, unashamed 'three star' hotels that are great value for money.

Belle Mare Plage - Mauritius, East Coast
Our View
Belle Mare Plage is a big hotel, with just over 200 rooms, but with a huge footprint along a seriously stunning expanse of beach, you are guarenteed private moments and enjoy extremely good service. This is our number one choice for high quality family accommodation, adhering to ideals of fabulous landscape, food, activities and comfort without comprimising style and soul.Cost: $164
Benguerra &Beyond - Benguerra Island
Our View
This lodge is guideline for others to follow; service is exemplary and not intrusive. You can be left completely on your own or encouraged to do as much as possible and either way, it feels like home.Cost: $525
Beyt al Chai - Stone Town, Zanzibar
Beyt Al Chai - A great centrally located authentic guest house in Stone Town. Excellent food. Has a residents lounge with cold beer in the fridge and an honesty bar. Only has a curtain dividing the loo and bath from the rest of the room so not ideal if you are not comfortable with sharing such matters with your room mate!!! - D. Fenn

Bilimungwe Camp - South Luangwa
Our View
Bilimungwe, owned by The Bushcamp Company is a great little walking camp, well regarded as one of the best walking camps in the Luangwa. Adventurous safaris are guaranteed with award-winning guides, often spending subsequently large chunks of the day walking out of camp. It is one of the more elegant Luangwa bush camps – fantastic!Cost: $870
Bisate - Rwanda
This lodge was over the top, and we are so pleased to have stayed there. We had enjoyed our experiences with Wilderness Safari in Botswana, and we were thrilled again with this new site.
We were pleased to each plant a tree at the lodge location, and to visit the local community one afternoon. The gorilla experience was just fantastic, and to be remembered for a lifetime. The first day was an easy walk while the second day was quite tough, with the local team clearing way through vines and nettles with the machete, all the way to 11,000 ft. We are very glad to have followed your advice and booked two days with the gorillas ! We still have to sort our many videos and pictures!

Blue Bay - Zanzibar, East Coast
It is one of the best resort accommodations on Zanzibar. In the same league as Breezes, the hotel has a charming atmosphere, set away from that of a large resort. The rooms are great and there is a real vibrant atmosphere. Like Breezes it is very good for families and groups, but given that they are both very similarly priced, we much prefer Breezes due to it being much smaller, yet it offers a similar product.
Cost: $180
Bom Bom - Principe Island
Our View
It is no wonder that Bom Bom is probably the most popular hotel on the island. With secluded beaches, a forest teeming with life, a restaurant serving notoriously delicious food and a luscious pool all on your doorstep, you can’t go far wrong with a stay in this little slice of undiscovered paradise.Cost: $300
Borana - Lewa Downs
Our rooms at Borana were above and beyond our expectations just given the size of the rooms, how nice the rooms and bathrooms were, the lovely fires that were lit in each of our rooms every night and then connecting our room with our daughters’ room was an outdoor living room area with a large comfortable couch, great chairs and a fire pit that they also lit for us every night. The view from the living room and our rooms was the watering hole down below where baboons, elephants, giraffes and lions drank. After dinner (which was always an incredible experience with superb hosting by Sam and Flick) we would then go to our own “living room” with my parents and daughters and play charades or just hang out. There was a bar in the living room that was well stocked with things for everyone. Borana was probably everyone’s favorite, which is saying a lot given that the other places were fantastic. - K Hooker

Breezes Beach Club - Zanzibar, East Coast
An elegant choice for luxurious beach accommodation on Zanzibar’s East Coast with all mod-cons and entertainment a plenty - this is the best value of the larger hotels on the island. Breezes does cater for the mainstream market but is the best at doing this on Zanzibar. It is perfect for families and ticks all the boxes, but for couples wanting a smaller hotel with all the perks of a large hotel we prefer Ras Nungwi.
